Post When a place/scenery reminds you of an anime.

I often go places and find scenery that reminds me of an anime I've watched before. This evokes emotion and deep thoughts for me and I find it a special feeling that only anime viewers can experience. I wanted to know if others have experienced this as well and if so what was it? It can even be a photo, painting, situation, or even music.

A recent one I found was this stream/river that was surrounded by fields and tall grass. To one side loomed a small mountain also covered in lush green. The sky was open because there were no tall trees nearby. The sky was cobalt blue with a few clouds here and there. This reminded me of Denpa onna to seishun otoko, which I'm obbcessed with. I really love it when I come across landscape that can remind me of that series. So I sat awhile and took it in. It was very beautiful.

I like to go to downtown districts at night - reminds me of Ghost in The Shell.

Rather than a place reminding me of an anime, I have a particular moment with the exact opposite. Take this as you will, but I do not mean it to sound depressing in any way...

Basically, last year my friend passed away around November, I was watching The iDOLM@STER around then as well. At the time, I was finding it hard to face what to do, and couldn't express how I felt. Something inside me said I was already over it, but you never really are. Then came along iDOLM@STER 20. I'll leave the video to explain, but it helped me view my whole situation from a distance, how Chihaya expressed feeling, was how I felt on the inside.

The change from being unable to sing, or in my case express, to being able to come to a realisation of events at a brighter perspective and feel better about myself. It also made me realise more than before, on the surface an anime can be cute and cuddly, but when deep themes are intertwined, it can provoke a feeling that can be seen as life changing.

I also like downtown districts and cities at night. It's very atmospheric and it's even better if it's raining. I used to enjoy walking around my friends neighborhood/town during march of last year. I liked feeling like accelerator walking in rain. I enjoy walking around cities in the rain for other reasons/feelings too.

Hawk that's a very deep story, I'm happy you shared it. I've also had moments where I've felt the same way as a character, and it was a really special feeling. I wish there were even more animes filled with meaning, but the ones that come out that do, are amazing. I'm glad you got better.

No problem man, I'm happy to be able to share it!

On a more positive note, and more on topic. For me, public parks remind me of a general anime setting. I get the same warm feeling in a way, that in works makes me perceive it as an almost unreal environment. Hard to describe, but yeah, there's one in particular that I like just out about 40 minutes from where I live.

(I also removed the double post, not sure if an accident at your end due to the post time difference)

Thanks for getting rid of it. I'm using an ancient phone that can barely handle internet (mine doesn't have internet, it's my brother's.) so it got messed up. I've only had a thought like thatg about a park once. Again it's one near my friends house and we often go at night and on a clear cool night in autumn or spring, with the full moon out, it's incredible. To me I get kizu/bakemonogatari vibes and it's very cool.

i agree, that's a very meaningful story and im sure everyone has their special scene that they can relate to like you have. i think that if you have a passion for something, there is always a way to draw something deep and meaningful from it; especially anime.

and back on topic: Downtown SF reminds me of guilty crown's tokyo bay, especially because of the pyramid building

and my local lagoon reminds me of the park Fuko, nagisa, and Tomoya went to in Clannad

Interesting thread. I'll be going on a trip to my hometown next week, I've got one of those places there.
Reporting back in in a week.
