Post OSU! PC and Android (not sure if the Apple version still works)

Because EVERYONE LIKES FREE THINGS!!!

http://osu.ppy.sh/

Now for those who are going to bother reading even after they see a link :3

MUSIC

ANIME

SHINY THINGS

The game itself is kind of like DJ MAX and O2Mania and all those rythem games and stuff and require probably the massive amount of APM and things just to be able to stand watching the game. But it's colourful and sparkly with lots and lots of music. Especially the majority of the music is anime songs.

There's the occasional OST music in there as well, Angel Beats! reference obligatory here. But some of my favourite are the creations of the oh-so-famous Nico Nico Douga and various other stuff created by the Japanese netizens. Personally I find them amazing.

For example, their creativity also involves translations into English!!! HOW CAN YOU SAY NO!!!

And OF COURSE THE SPRITE TRIBE

A lot of the Beatmaps, which are the levels, are created by players. Some of them have beyond-godlike hand-eye co-ordination.

Now I'm not one of them, but I do enjoy playing this game to say the least. A lot of the songs have videos and what not included as a bonus, watch as your favorite blob of moe distract you and lower your chances at a high score.... or not :3

Apart from Anime, OSTs, Vocaloids, Amazing Japanese video editing skills, some Spongebob. There's other types of music in multiple languages. And the chatrooms and socialising system is better than some of the privatised-pay-by-the-month kind of games. It's quite a simple concept but with a longer reach than just otakus.

The best part? It's free to play, but with a RANKED system to determine which Beatmaps deserve public recognition. Typically free of the 12 year old trolls/4chan surfers. Skill level can be picked and mods can be added but that's just part of this genre I guess :3

Each Beatmap usually has more than one in it, depending on the skill level, you can choose the easy mode, the hard mode, the impossible modes, the Asian modes...and all the other levels you can think of a name for, they've done it already :3. Creativity where EASY NORMAL HARD has dominated for so long :3

Oh and you can also bulk download the maps, might get some anime OP that you haven't watched and make you interested. It worked on me :3

But the difference is how this game adds competitiveness in a different way. It's multilingual, and supports multiplayer across the globe. You can play against people just about anywhere. And no fear of lag either as a bonus!

If you're not interested in competing, play offline and the records are recorded both locally and on the net if you sign in. I like it because it gives me something to do and a lot of reasons to listen to Angel Beats!

Did I mention it's free?

The game is updated often with small patches and bug fixes. A community based project that is self-regulating while requiring none. Quite a friendly one as well! That's IF I could understand what they were typing in the chatrooms, but I'll choose to stick to the English ones and stay away from the Turkish until I can one day go visit my friend over there...

Something community built, which is always nice. Something that's maintained by it as well, that's just better than any sweet desert or anime meat I can imagine would taste.

I find it to be a good time drainer, or just in for a quick game if you want to. It's also on Android, don't have an iPhone so not sure about that, but probably there as well :3

Skip the next part. Ranting on about things you'll see so often in these forums being spammed by the General Grievous/Haruhi :3

Now for those who are still here

OKAY I`m going to admit to being one of those shallow people. I don't judge a book by it's cover, nor do I judge a person by their appearance, but I sure as an imp from blue hell will judge an anime by its OP. If the opening's poorly thought out or just something I dislike, I tend to just turn away from the anime as well.

I like to stream anime because, well personally I don't have the conditions to download the MB/GBs of anime. I'd like to, but not an option. Unfortunately, neither is skipping the OP... Those minutes I'll never get back...

Examples include

School Days. Found the OP creepy...well don't watch it if you haven't.
Guilty Crown. Now I admit to liking the series until about episode 10. Because I liked the song until about episode 10. It got annoying after a while...so did the plot...and then it all went downhill after the second half of the season. Song didn't do it much good either.

Mirai Nikki. This one was OKAY but it got repetitive hearing the SURVIVAL GAME all the time. So did the plot :3

Hyouka...Somehow the uploader managed to skip the OP, but not the EP...Why I bothered with that I don't have a bloody clue...

Then again...

Bakemonogatari/Nisemonogatari. Liked the opening songs very much, and they had quite a few :3

    Haruhi. Just cuz :3

    Angel Beats! All day Everyday

And the exposure to other anime I got through this game is a non-zero real number figure. I thought it was good.

But it's not better than SeventhStyle.

Though anyways, I heard of this one before and am fond of DJ Max - I'd play this if it were on PS Vita. It would also be preferable if this had attractive 2-D girls, like DJ Max. And about anime OSTs, I'd do Polyphonica, Texhnolyze, and Ergo Proxy.

Actually with the maps, whenever you hit a combo of somesort not sure what it is you'll get little popup girls for a second. That's what I meant about the distractions. Oh and there's also Taiko Mode. :3

Anyways, I am just plain awful at this game. I did great with Elite Beat Agents, but I can't do it man, can't do it. This mouse will be the end of me, I need a stylus.

Have you tried an oppai-pad yet? It does wonders for the wrist. If not then some cold steak on the wrist will do fine. Ofc there's always the easier maps :P

But the MAP AND SKIN PACKS!!! DOO EET :D

Yesterday I bought my first smartphone (Huawei Ascend Y200). So, I decided to try out OSU! It's awesome! It's much better than Angry Birds (I can't see why it's so popular) to me.
