Not too complicated, just post a slosh of different things that inspire you in whatever way, meaning they actually motivate you to do something - you can go more in-depth if you want.

I'm inspired by music for the most part.
Some music/musicians that inspire me too make my own, practice, and get through my daily life.

J.J. johnson

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIvvlP63spk (go to 12:00 for Now's The Time)

This guy's also a big influence for me trombone/jazz wise

Alternative Rock Bands have been a big influence for me. The use of regular rock band instruments with effects and distorted sounds for nice enveloping outcomes really stands out as my favorite part about alt. bands. It's made me want to experiment with sounds and try different approaches to pretty much everything.

Hip Hop wise Lupe Fiasco's "The Cool" is still an influence and evokes thoughts, ideas, and emotions, even if Hip Hop was something I was big on a few years back.

On top of Trombone, I am also fascinated with bass and drums, and subgenres of electronic music such as jungle, dnb, breakcore(breakbeats), drill and bass have inspired a lot of the music I make today and want to make. The rapid breaks of drum samples and hard hitting bass lines helps me get excited for the day and life in general.

Squarepusher's rapid bass playing inspired me to take up fretless bass.

His drum programming has opened up new doors for me production wise.

More inspiring stuff...

All in all, the unique sounds these people create and the way they present them supply me with energy and I'm constantly on the look out for more interesting music/stuff.

Watching Clark play around with sounds and beats inspires me to explore and experiment more. I also get a kick out of watching people make music.
Highlights being the beginning, 30:48, 43:33, 57:00~59:17

Weather affects me a lot as well. I get inspired to make a song when it rains, and rain also inspires me to get outside and walk around or even call a friend up and go to their house. I don't get much inspiration creativity wise during the spring and summer but once fall starts rolling in so do the ideas. I prefer to work under cold climate and the fall/winter scenery inspires me a lot. Whether it's a random drawing, song, or anything else the cold/wet weather pumps me up for it.

Interesting, vibrant, dreamy, good artwork will get me going with ideas or just put me in a good mood. I am always looking for nice art as well to inspire me and keep me thinking. I like abstract art that have lots of meaning hidden away into different parts of the art and paints a deep image. That can get me to get out of my bed and do something productive.

City environments are inspiring, and so are beautiful looking suburbs and english tutor-house buildings incasing small cute towns.

I can also get inspired from just pretending to be some character I make up in some made up setting and story. (sometimes)

I want to have a family early on as well and that inspires me to work hard on my projects and strive for my goals.

Apart from music and other artsy stuff, nothing else really inspires me or grabs my interest, I'm not erupting with amazing or interesting. I love music passionately and it's the biggest contributor to inspiration.

One last thing that inspires me though, are lolis... Everyday is a Loliday! YES! And this concludes my obnoxious three post reply to this thread.

That's a lot of inspiration there, dork >_>

As for what inspires me... Music as well XD For me, if there's a day I can't feel inspired or occupied at least, it's then a bad day lol. Luckily, I have inspiration from a lot of great pianists. Here's a couple of uploads from yesterday. One of them you'll probably like Seven.

I'll probably end up learning that Kokoro theme. Music brings me into an anime, and when that happens, I generally get the same feeling of inspiration from the anime.

Then there's the inspiration to fap, but that's for another board >_>

I have a ton of influences and inspiration, but my high school music was what inspired me to become a better person.

I'm a very positive person, and I try to remain cheerful at all times. I always seek to see the very best in people, because I believe everyone has potential but never exerts any effort to show it. Unfortunately, the realist in me knows that it's just a nice dream.

Have Heart, Life Long Tragedy, Set Your Goals and The Wonder Years gave me this positive outlook on life. Their lyrics are positively moving.

The sensation of traveling hundreds of miles to see these bands, packing into a tight and dusty old warehouse, screaming back lyrics with a bunch of other kids from around the country you've never met and realizing that the band you are witnessing is going through the same struggles as you are is euphoric. It's unreal. Meeting hundreds of kids and having nothing in common with them except that band is awesome. There is a certain sense of brotherhood when you're reciting lyrics with someone you've never met, and will probably never see again. It's something that cannot be replicated when watching a movie with a crowd of people, or attending conventions of a similar interest.

Every morning, these songs were the anthem to my high school life.

Set Your Goals.

My life:a constant work in progress. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

The Wonder Years
"We wont sleep our lives away
And today, today, today
In this lake of shit we've made
I refuse to sink."

"My friends and I,
are all fucked on the inside,
but we don't let it ruin our lives."

"We'll fuck it up until we get this right..
Just cause we're down, doesn't mean we've got to stay there.
This fucking town is like a ship gone underwater,
and we'll all drown unless we cut ties to the anchor."

Have Heart

he was a kind hearted man in a hateful world
who caught every thing that life ever hurled
like the oldest mountain he always stood so tall
forever showing what it means to be unbreakable
paycheck to paycheck,
3 jobs a day,
he's the ransom for his family's pain
in the coldest world with the warmest heart,
he puts to shame what you consider hard
he's the man you don't see in the mirror
while the world was screaming death,
he chose a different song to hear
he's the band thats playing while the ship sinks
the song of hope, he forever sings
he taught the sun to shine
now please teach this "son" to shine
how can this world never break
your warm heart in this frigid fucking place?
you're like the river:
always flowing and growing,
never changing; rearranging
how can this world always never take
your solid stance in these turbulent time?
you're like the tree in the burning forest
that never was burned down
and what he said to me was this

"Just love the world that won't love you back"

old man look at my life
i'm nothing like you are
take a look at my life
i'm so very fucking far
from the person i aspire to be

UNBREAKABLE

Armed With a Mind

Caked up and faked up, she's obsessed with the outside.
Nothing earned, too afraid to fail, so she lead a hollow life void of insight.
Loving what you see, but you fear what you think
Because your mind and your body, there's a missing fucking link
That leaves you vulnerable, susceptible to pain.
You're a garden of potential submerged in the rain.

True beauty can't be seen with the eyes.

Life Is Hard Enough

ambitions fail, complications hail all when
my insecurities all fucking prevail.
do i turn to a drink or into what i really wanna be?
is a substance gonna be the crutch thats gonna
set me fucking free?
the pressure rises and i feel the strain
the doubt begins and confusions reign
directionless where do i turn
don't fail me now the one thing that i've learned...
i've learned the strength to fucking push it aside
we know, we know i got the strength inside
you know i got it and i know it so i'll show it
to live, with pain...the choice is in my hands
thats just an anchor that'll drown you man
we know, we know you got the strength inside
to defeat the problems of our lives
without, the "crutch" ...cause we all know
life is hard enough as it is.

Life Long Tragedy

Has your heart ever skipped a beat?
Have you ever had to face hardships?
Did you ever have to overcome
Your fears and make sacrifices?
Who we are and what we want to be,
Is nothing without the heart to see,
That where we're going is our own destiny,
Not another's life that was chosen for me
We keep on fighting to save ourselves,
But keep forgetting everyone else
I've seen the view from the bottom
There was a time when I let myself sink
Dying to be saved by someone,
Instead of living to the best of my ability
This world is what you make it
This life is what you make it
The choice is up to you,
Whether you love or hate it
This world is what you make it
This life is what you make it
The choice is up to you,
Whether you make or break it
I'll live my life for me
And we're still fighting,
Slowly gaining ground
Choosing our own battles
By making our own sound

Their performance of Conturbatio is beautiful too, but it's that Decretum one that always gets me to draw something tragic, probably to make up for the fact that I can't play something tragic.

Late reply, but that pianist is absolutely fantastic!

I've actually noticed that while being one of the most acclaimed anime out there as of recent, it has provided a lot of inspiration. The music compositions have a mixture of that "eery" and heart-warming vibe, whereas the art contrasts the cuteness of Mahou Shoujo's with a well envisioned brutal, depressing reality that puts a lot of emphasis into the eyes and facial expressions at key moments.
