What is this place?
SeventhStyle is a site focusing on the research of modern Japanese visual art, aesthetics, and animation. We honestly don’t care what you consider us to be, as either way, we strictly follow the premise of “All Anime Everything” – focusing on highly comprehensive and analytical articles regarding anime news, reviews, previews, galleries, and more.
Although in a section below we briefly describe some heritage of the name, “SeventhStyle” means a style which utilizes all seven elements of art. We believe anime to be a diverse form of modern visual art and study the underlying elements driving it – hence we are “an elemental workshop” of study and original content.
We like to feature insightful approaches with detailed explanations in order to understand and share concepts as well as ideas, not just information, with a heavy focus on the back stage process of it all when possible.
As it appears some may not understand how we function – here is our categorical structure:
■ News articles vary from short paragraphs to lengthy pieces depending on the news content at hand. News is any recent event of interest, we consider new episodes of an anime to be news as this is an anime site.
■ Episodic reviews are overviews of a specific episode of a series. There are two types of these – “ep 1″ reviews and standard. The standard highlights a topic of interest within the episode. Episode 1 or “ep 1″ reviews offer an insightful outlook on the beginning or first impression of a series.
■ Galleries are comprehensive, content heavy articles showcasing a specific feature within a series of images.
■ Reviews are the final thoughts on a series – a complete insightful article on if it’s good or not and why.
■ Miscellaneous are general topic articles which don’t directly relate to anything, yet of course they are still within bounds of anime.
What does the name SeventhStyle mean?
SeventhStyle is our lifestyle. While some people are composed of neutrons and electrons, we are composed of color, shape, and line just to name a few. The name SeventhStyle represents the seven elements of art. We have a broad definition of art and live by aesthetics. Anime is a major modern visual art that drives our minds and our eyes with it’s story and technique.
