An elemental workshop.

A series called “Tokyo Ghoul” has suddenly come out with plans to debut an anime adaptation in the soon to start summer season of 2014 – appearing to be a shock-horror bag of dismembered cadavers and dementia.

Convincing is the key visual image through its barbaric nature and rather refined aesthetic, that said, it doesn’t explain much of the story aspects unsurprisingly – but it is listed on there we’ll receive a PV soon enough. Incidentally, one striking feature of this visual is that the protagonist is a male character – and not just that, it looks like a male character with his own distinct identity. That’s very rare, something found these days only in the likes of Persona or other long-established titles.

  • I hope the protagonist wears this sick restraint mask during the whole series. It would indeed be rather interesting to see a demented main character like this.

Having read the manga, he doesn’t wear it all the time. He only wears it whenever it is fit due to him having to conceal his identity as a Ghoul.

    Japan’s “Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.”

    If only.

If you guys want the summary. Here:

“The dark fantasy story is set in Tokyo, which is haunted by mysterious “ghouls” who are devouring humans. People are gripped by the fear of these ghouls whose identities are masked in mystery. An ordinary college student named Kaneki encounters Rize, a girl who is an avid reader like him, at the café he frequents. Little does he realize that his fate will change overnight.”

    Sounds interesting…

Edit: Adding to a comment, this is a good thing that this will be airing this summer. Ruining our chance to have a nice summer vacation. By the time we watch this, we can all have nightmares.
