An elemental workshop.

Tactical 2channers have identified the possible whereabouts of Gargantia by comparing its geographic makeup to that of our own planet – centralizing it to a region of high altitude in the southern seas.

To be more precise, the geographic experts at the research institute of 2ch have determined that assuming Gargantia is anchored somewhere on this map spotted within the latest aired, seventh episode, then the fleet is between the waters of the Himalayas and Peru. This is definitely valuable information for any otaku interested in making a pilgrimage to the setting of Gargantia.

As far as I am concerned, that “scientific” study is rubbish.

Yeah, your in-depth counter-analysis definitely proves that well.

So there is land after all.

    • niko says:

That’s what i’ve been thinking as well. As long as the dark spots, which usually mean land, aren’t supposed to be places with shallow depth.

I thought that there wasn’t any land anymore, as Amy acted as if land was some legendary mythical place a few episodes back, unless I misunderstood something. I think that the map is just a relic from the past sometime soon after the world had started to flood. I guess that is also why they have it upside down, because they wouldn’t know how the land is positioned on a normal map.

And also the ones with the most free time. Maybe it is because they don’t have lives taking it all up…

That is a world map after the flood. You cannot make geographic position estimations based on a map of the whole world.

“Yay…you have a globe, you must be somewhere on….earth?”

The only thing, that can be estimated is that gargantians perceive north and south flipped as opposed to us and you can also estimate the new sea level, but not location of Gargantia.

I agree. The “discovery” is not all that helpful to get an idea of where Gargantia is. It’s mostly an interesting background detail.

      • Seven says:

What are you guys expecting? Exact coordinates so you can go visit the ships of Gargantia yourself?

    yay! Chile!!!!
