Operation Vivid Red apparently felt the need to branch out from marketing solely through imagery, releasing its first insultingly horrid PV to demean all legitimate standards of quality – accenting female bodies instead.
With this era grotesquely overflowed with moe, there exists some series which simply have it as a subtle extra, then others which integrate it as part of the main attraction, yet there is a third type of series which simply places all of its weight atop such as it hasn’t anything else to its name – the pre-release visuals already made as much clear, although this PV seemingly affirms Operation Vivid Red to be such a series.
This preview clip fails to convey anything meaningful regarding the series – thereby likely implying the series has no such thing to begin with. The PV does show a few scraps which imply the tale is to be about cute highschool girls in hotpants fighting colossal monstrous creatures – although besides being idiotic, this is also not particularly original.
And with a lackluster plot, a series will nearly always resort to petty fanfare to succeed – and oh, what a surprise (one said with a posed look), this PV seems to place more camera time and attention on posteriors before anything else.
A-1 Pictures’ next great debacle seems to be progressing along as catastrophically as first envisioned.

This is going to be a sci-fi equivalent of Dog Days (without kemonomimi), right ?
While you think this is going to be a horrible show, personally I expected it to be one of my most anticipated shows of the winter. Unless something extraordinary might change, you can already expect cute girls doing sci-fi things from the series.

and incidentally, it’s going to be as equally horrible as dog days as ” cute girls doing sci-fi things” does not equate to a good plot and a series relying on solely this can be expected to be horrible to begin with

The reason it’s even focusing on cute girls is because it’s horrible and has nothing else.

All I can do now is hope and pray that this series can bring something good, even if it’s only 5% of the total 100.

A-1 pictures should finish Sword Awful Online and Vivid Red very quickly and make the anime version of Idolmaster Cinderella Girls.
I want to see the messy loli in action.

I agree with the SAO thoughts, but even though Vivid Red seemed horrible to begin with, maybe we can expect something extraordinary to happen unlike what SAO did.

although if you take the account all the key visuals and this pv released, it’s vividly obvious that we can expect nothing of this show as it has shown nothing of interest so far, unless of course, you’re only in it for the loli’s…

its just another anime with pantsu…..

Operation Generic Red.
Oct 20, 2012 @ 11:49 CDT
it’s Vividly Generic
Oct 20, 2012 @ 12:12 CDT
Looks boring…

It could be better than Strike Witches, if it doesn’t have ultra cringe-worthy and cheesy dialogue.
Also, more than 2 episodes of plot at the beginning and the end would be nice too.
Oct 20, 2012 @ 12:23 CDT
with the kind of stuff they’ve shown us until now, maybe that’s asking for too much
Oct 20, 2012 @ 13:10 CDT
A1 Picture + Strike Witches theme + Hiroyuki Yoshino (GC)
I can not drop this fast enough.

Last two letters on the first line is a reason enough to not watch this series.
