“Chuunibyo!” Ep 3 PV – Moeblob Cheerleading

Following routine, the third episode PV for “Chuunibyo demo Koi ga Shitai!” is now available – showing the next upcoming chapter to have a focus on moeblobs in cheerleading outfits, paired with dramatic poses.

Whatever the reasoning is which leads up to such seemingly sporadic developments is uncertain, and perhaps not even particularly significant so much as the outcome. Just a bit past the mid-way point in the clip below, it’s likely this which serves as the entire burning spotlight of the coming episode – the moeblob heroine, among others of her kind, engaging in some ridiculous activity which as a likely intended side-effect provides onlookers with visual delight.

That said, overlooking the fact of banalities in its current context, Kyoto Animation seems to have developed their own idea of how the human body functions in respect to moeblob characters. At the 19 second mark, one can see a pose by the heroine which seems all too familiar with the many physical gestures brought about by the girls of K-ON! – and likely even Hyouka. It’s interesting as the distinctions are strong enough to be immediately recognizable – the outreaching bend, met with back arched upward, resulting in waist arbitrarily exerted outward.

This is a rather fascinating display – not simply for what is seen at face value, yet it shows that Kyoto Animation has not merely conjured their own style of character in terms of aesthetic, but their own subsequent traits and characteristics which are as far-reaching as how a character may move.

It of course becomes a withering sight the more the same elements are abused – although they do remain quite immense in the impact they play on the grand scale of the animation, as well as in showing the level of thought and consideration spent into each scene. All in all, third episode seems right on par with fan expectation.
