November approaches, and 2013 hasn’t long till it arrives as well – sadly however, those seeking to keep track of the new year by means of The iDOLM@STER’s many flavorful idols will not be particularly pleased.
Looking at the exterior of The iDOLM@STER’s 2013 calendar, one will be easily fooled – the front cover features a showcase of sexy bikini-clad bishoujos, an alluring sight which of course will leave one eager for more. However, the calendar itself is as half-baked as can be – it’s practically a blatant insult to all the series fans, and any who put their trust in the publisher to deliver a respectable item of merchandise.
On the inside, the calendar hasn’t even an image for every month – it has six artworks which it shoves two months upon each. The fact that whomever came up with calendar’s concept did not even bother to include 12 illustrations to correspond with the 12 months of the year is alone just baffling – practically sickening even as the drive for profit truly seems to have pulled every string in this item’s production.
And then to add another injury to that already present, the artworks are not even original – they’re all readily found online as they’re all from magazines released throughout the years of 2011 and 2012. The publisher made this calendar a mere six pages, and they couldn’t even fill those six pages with something unique.
This is effectively the worst piece of promotional material ever – and quite a waste of funds.
