A publication mentions that the third Madoka Magica film, which is set to contain a completely fresh story, may not be the finale of the series – in which case, the possibility for a second season seems greater.
Considering all the prevalent steam the series is carrying, a second season wouldn’t have surprised anyone – even prior to any film announcements or the likes, it would have been anticipated and only reasonable. Madoka Magica is already blasting through all sorts of charts, rankings, and fiscal year financial analyses – now in particular, with the film hype, a second season would seem an appropriate follow-up.

A big one: only the noblest and manliest of men follow the pink mahou shoujo of blessed hope. The word “fag” simply doesn’t belong anywhere in the description.

Sure, why not?! The anime was great, and there is room to make some improvements.

There’s also room to make profit – both physically and metaphorically.

Seriously, I can’t believe how popular a one season anime series has become. I mean, I absolutely loved it don’t get me wrong. I just can’t believe it spawned several movies after one season that are breaking record sales, and they’re mostly just a recap of the first season. Of course with the movie that will contain a fresh, new, story, the sales might be even larger. So a second season is highly appreciated, but they’re seriously making some nice money off of this series. Oh and lets not forget that the series was original and not the adaption of an existing manga or light novel. Which makes its popularity even more surprising.

It would have been ended with the third film, but if the second season proves to be true, I don’t mind it since I like learning the truth behind unresolved hints. I thought the show was pretty great due to its twistful story and cute yet sufferable characters.
