As the unbelievably cute imouto of Ore no Imouto recently received a revealing mizugi based figure rendition, it seems Kuroneko has also gained one of her own – albeit with a visage less than lovely, ruining the body.
Speaking of her physique, the single area which one could say requires a fix is the skin tone which appears fairly pale, and almost lifeless – yet that is perhaps quite accurate when in respect to this gothic lolita who likely rarely leaves the house, or only does so with her strange outfits covering her skin.
Yet all that aside, her body is certainly enticing – with the arch of the lower body and spine truly serving to define her main areas of curvature. Noticed particularly well at a side-view, her curves are sculpted fine and flawlessly – truly looking smooth, silken, and even appetizing. These contouring areas of her form also act to emphasize, and drive attention to all the right places – her two main regions of asset.
Looking at the skin more intently instead of simply examining shapes, one can even see delicate fluctuations of value to account for the skin’s expanse and retraction – which is of course quite immense, and adds significantly to the allure.
Now indeed, if one could only ignore the face, this would be a rather exquisite figure – nearly every aspect of the visage is plagued in some way. The eyes look incorrect in a manner ever so slight – either not being spaced as evenly as should be, or perhaps the size is simply off. The face overall seems missing intricate shadow to actually look like a face, rather than a flat surface – which is a problem also affecting the mouth. The mouth is just entirely missing everything – and the nose, which sits in the center of this all, doesn’t do much as all is devastating.
If only the visage were adjusted accordingly, one would see more incentive when eyeing this figure.

She’s ready to go into the water after doing some photoshoot.

She’s ready to move to my house.

Why is Kuroneko so perfect?
Oct 13, 2012 @ 11:49 CDT
Why wouldn’t she be.
Oct 13, 2012 @ 11:49 CDT
Except the face.
Oct 13, 2012 @ 12:44 CDT
She should have a smile.

Why are you complaining? The face looks perfectly accurate to my 4th wife Kuroneko-chan!
She don’t smile because she’s a tsundere. The eyes are good (not too big and good color) and I don’t think they’re too close.
And the swimsuit is just so sweet, I want to eat her :’)
She’s the best Kuroneko figure at the moment IMO.

It says why in the article – I’ll quote it for you:
“The eyes look incorrect in a manner ever so slight – either not being spaced as evenly as should be, or perhaps the size is simply off. The face overall seems missing intricate shadow to actually look like a face, rather than a flat surface – which is a problem also affecting the mouth. I’ve read it and I’m not agree :p What do you mean by “intricate shadow”? I’ve a lot of figure and the face rarely have shadows effect (except the red cheeks). And the plat surface is the only way you can make a figure of Kuroneko, because of her chara design (I’ve figure from Madoka, it’s the same, you have no choice if you want to be the most accurate possible to the character).
But wait for Kotobukiya’s final shots, sometimes figures looks better on those, perhaps you will finally fall in love for her… ;)

Shadow to define the puff of the cheeks, the depression of the eye sockets, or the inclination of the facial structure between the nose and eyes.

I see I see…
And it’s very difficult to deepen that on character from “otaku manga-style” anime. You can do it but you will certainly modify the face structure.
But for characters from Shounen or Seinen or more real design, you can do it because faces are more detailed in general.

It’s the job of the sculptor to figure that out – it’s not a valid excuse.
Oct 13, 2012 @ 21:22 CDT
For me it is… I don’t want a too realistic face… that’s all.
And a lot of scultors do the same, you don’t see “over detailed face” figure on the market recently(even Alter or Good Smile didn’t), because as simply as they are, they are good and accurate… and they sell well :D

If you personally are pleased with this, I can’t call you wrong for liking something – though it won’t change the reality, just the perception.
These are good examples of a better Kuroneko figure face:

The second one is my favorite for the moment, i think she’s even better than the illust she come from. But again, the face isn’t that detailed…
But the first one is poorly made IMO (it’s a figma after all). Compare pictures with the anime, there is something wrong…
I think you just don’t like the facial expression on this one. Perhaps you prefer the proto’s one: http://myfigurecollection.net/image/lzyjosh1343523810.jpeg (more “Dandere-like” and bigger eyes) I don’t know why they decide to change it, but personnaly I prefer the color ver.

I actually thought she was a yuru yuri character honestly when i was skimming past and then noticed her name. It doesn’t scream “kuroneko” at all imo.
