Accel World’s second OVA has brought out a stack of pre-release imagery, showing itself to be apparently even more so ridiculous than the actual TV series – featuring the heroine hugging a fat pig in her bathing suit.
Not only does this series delve into the ever-standard bathing service extra installment, although it seemingly does so “the Accel World way” – packing all the females we’ve already seen scantily dressed every other week as result of magazine marketing illustrations, now exposed to the wrath of inevitable censorship by means of awkward camera angling. As the camera blockades all the portions of interest from one’s sight, the OVA is essentially vain and meaningless as, of course, there’s nothing else to see.

If you can accept the premise (VIDEO GAMES ARE SRS BUSINESS EH?!), Accel World really isn’t bad. Unlike SAO it doesn’t have as many empirical flaws and most complaints are due to tastes/personal preference. The music is good, and the fight scenes are top notch, which is a lot more than I can say for SAO.
Lots of people hate Porky for his deformed alien fat pig loser look, but to his credit he stays consistent with his personality and takes a few steps forward in character development.
Of course Accel World is ultimately another fantasy male wish fulfillment show and should be enjoyed as such. You won’t find much “substance” here.

accel world is a good show but the story progression is terrible. the storyline derails so many times, that when i was around episode 19, i was saying to myself ‘theres no possible way they can wrap up all these storylines in 5 more episodes’ and i was right. they derailed the ‘lets get to lvl 10′ main storyline to go into a story about the evil possessing armo. then went into another side story about some annoying kid thats black mailing them. then went into another side story about hackers hacking into the net. then went back to the armor, then back to the kid, and never went back to the level 10 storyline. its so all over the place that they now owe us a second season to wrap this up and give the fans closure.
also the fact that the 2 main chars never kiss at the end enraged alot of people. we had to put up with 24 episodes of watching the main kid snivel and cry and we got no reward for our patience at the end.
cool show, but the second season needs to come out soon because ill probably lose interest before its out
