Shinsekai Yori’s first manga volume has been released – a compilation of the several yuri packed chapters serialized up till now, each featuring extensive salacity, uncensored, and totally irrelevant to any story.
Every event in this manga series somehow leads to yuri – a moment of peace results in a feminine showing of sensuality, abnormalities beginning to spark up somehow also bring the start of yuri, and if any strange creatures or monsters come, our heroines are quick to undress and start rubbing one another in places best not said. The ending of any given route involves touching, licking, and a lack of clothing.
It’s not entirely clear how this series intends to carry on for several more volumes as it has already made use of all of its assets within the first – yet the lesbianism will likely sell regardless of any of that. Of course, it’s not as if anyone’s reason for purchasing such a manga would be to enjoy a non-repetitive, thrilling fantasy adventure – unless that is, they assumed the manga were taking after the original novel.
Nonetheless, one can certainly commend the artwork – it’s not necessarily the most respectable subject matter, assuming it’s respectable at all, yet the lines certainly know how to curve, which subsequently makes the physique and hair of the various characters quite a treat.
If it makes any sense, this supernatural slice of life makes for a fantastic yuri series in case any are fond of that – and don’t mind seeing a story and its characters degraded.

I feel horrible for saying this but I really want to read it.

hmmm…looks nice. I think i’ll schedule this for about 0.000001 seconds from now.

This wouldn’t bother me to much if is was just an original yuri manga, but since it is ruining something so much better, it makes me want to wrip the artist’s hands off

I agree. I’m fine if it’s an original manga. Unless the novel has plenty of raunchy moments, it ruined it.

Ultimately, the artist is just following publisher instruction – they apparently thought the original novel wasn’t exciting enough.

hmm…it’s about that time…

That Yuri. Makes me want to read it, but I kinda feel in conflict inside. The man inside me supports it, while the otaku part says “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”.

“In the year 3000… casual sex is used to killing time.”

The yuri looks wonderful
Oct 9, 2012 @ 13:13 CDT
Aesthetically, yes – plot-wise, no.

This looks totally awesome…
I’ve dropped the anime after episode 2, it’s very boring, and I don’t like the characters or the art style, there’s nothing good in it that I could enjoy.
If the anime were like this manga it could be so much better…

I dropped the anime after episode one, it was Shinsekai Boring.
Oct 10, 2012 @ 7:51 CDT
I do think it’s a bit dull, but since its supposed to be very good, I am going to continue until it gets unbearable, or just never stop if it picks up.
Oct 14, 2012 @ 10:57 CDT
I must say, you should stick around until at least episode 4 before dropping it. That’s what I’m doing, at least.
Oct 14, 2012 @ 17:13 CDT
Too boring to watch – there’s more worthwhile things to do.
Jan 25, 2013 @ 13:35 CDT
I stop watching at episode 8, if you watch 8 youll know why.
Oct 10, 2012 @ 11:36 CDT
The first episode was dull… might continue to watch if its Yuri…

the animation didn’t feel fluent to me + it was boring so I dropped it after ep 1. Just wondering if the animation is supposed to be like that. Is it a part of the cell-shaded CGI style? If so they should either polish it or just don’t use it at all, imo.

I’ve read the first volume and part of the second, after watching the series.
The anime is peerless, so far, and the manga is somewhat different, almost intended for a younger audience, but the nudity makes me wonder. The anime is far more mature and has excellent pacing (though the first 2 or 3 episodes were slightly sluggish) whereas the manga disregards the impacts of the revelations by having them snowball atop one another.
At least the “queer rats” in the manga are rendered to be more horrifying than the anime managed, successfully making them more “other” to the human children.
