An elemental workshop.

To Love-Ru Darkness aired days ago, censored as expected, yet otaku held hope that the great savior, AT-X, would premiere the series untouched as they have with other works – but behold, it is betrayal.

At-X is a premium subscriber channel in the motherland controversial for its record of airing assorted raunchy or grotesque series fully uncensored. With the last several seasons of anime seeing the channel output some absolute trash, yet sure enough, in a raw and adulterated manner, many were eager to see To Love-Ru Darkness, a series which actually has some level of insight to go alongside its indecency, uncensored. As aforementioned, that occurred not – and it looks that To Love-Ru is realizing its potential when it comes to optical media sales.

With lustful desires for second dimensional females now tantalized and left unsatisfied around the world – there’s sure to be quite a heavy and raging demand for Blu-ray quality episodes as this series carries on.

And it’s not merely an aspect of appreciating fictional breasts, it’s also quite difficult to watch the series at all when abnormal beams of white mystic particle suddenly blast across the screen in several directions during every other frame. Any who have read the manga, or have a basic familiarity with the premise if nothing else, know that while the series contains supernatural elements, it’s certainly not based around magic circles and other arcane arts – or censorship for that matter.

Worst case scenario, if one truly cannot wait for the media disks, one can always seek a mild respite with colored pages from the manga till the awaited day of Blu-ray arrives.

    Is there a webcast?

Waiting for bluray for my bathing scene, AT-X can GTFO.

In the real world, light getting in the way of a shot isn’t artistic in the least, it’s known as a bad camera setup. Implement that fact to censorship, and you get the exact same – terrible censorship.

Anime that are going to be this risqué, are worth nothing once you butcher all the good parts.

I thought this will happen… original ToLoveRu didn’t have uncensored tv broadcast either, also this isn’t the first time AT-X betrayed us… Muv-Luv Alternative, Seikon no Qwaser, etc.

No problem, TV version is dropped, and I’ll wait for the Blu-Rays.

I don’t believe it is AT-X betraying as much as it is the studio. AT-X has allowed much worse stuff, and it’s not like the channel has stopped airing adult content (They still have things in their upcoming schedule with parental advisory warned, which To Love Ru Darkness didn’t have). With this in mind, it seems more likely that it’s the studio decision to reserve the uncensored version for BDs, instead of using it to just increase the audience of the AT-X airing.

It wont be long until the the uncensored version comes out. Besides it’s already good with or without it. Well, thats what I think.

I was wondering about this a little. Good thing that I’m following this for the story, or I might be upset.

Why is this bad news? It’s rather fast, usually it takes even more time.

Now all I have to worry about is if the Japanese will be able to rip and upload the TLRD BDs, will the copyright alert system get in the way and if all of that is dealt with when will the fansubbers get to it.
Mikan better have the same amount of fanservice as in the manga in the BDs or some JP balls will be kicked.

I know right, I don’t follow the manga but Mikan better give us some good fanservice. Also is a pleasure to meet you fellow Mikan fan.

  • alan says:

Well, I’m happy to see that I’m not the only one dropping the tv series and waiting for the BDs.

ehh i got as far as rito waking up in episode 1 and and seeing lala before i quit watching “sigh” Back to the manga -_-

Watched ep 1. Found it very good up till Momo’s “Rito Sleeping” flashback ;) just unbearable censors for that segment! Upon concluding the ep, I searched heavily to find an uncersored version (not realizing this season had just premiered) but to my dismay i somehow feel waiting for the BD ver is an anticipation worth its time!

What they need to do wait until the series on tv is over then just release all bds at once but obviously they arent smart or they would give the fanbasewhat they want, im doing it for the story but that blinding light makes it hard to see anything on screen. They also need to make the voice actors speak english and release that instead of english subtitles, i dont like to read while watching something its annoying.

I agree with all you guys, this “beam of sunlight” is quite annoying when watching the series, so il wait for the blue rays to. Not that they will ever come to Norway thought, so i might have to download them :P
