Ore no Imouto’s second run has been confirmed for a debut of April 2013, the season of spring – and the production responsibilities, for better or worse, have been switched over to the highly questionable A-1 Pictures.
This series isn’t looking too bright on the horizon – those familiar with Ore no Imouto’s light novel series know that it devolves into a typical harem entering the highschool timeline and onward from there, and one can already see that the recent marketing for this series has been suspiciously more so salacious than the norm. And now, another reason to worry for the worst, production has shifted – which not only is nearly always a troubling detail, but A-1 Pictures in particular isn’t looking too impressive at the moment.
It seems that 2013 won’t be a good year for the imouto.

What why? I thought AIC Build made tons of money off the first season?
Oct 7, 2012 @ 0:11 CDT
AIC Build may not be the ones who made the decision – the “Ore no Imouto” intellectual property doesn’t belong to them.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 0:15 CDT
I think the main reason why I enjoyed the first season was the character designs/artwork.
A-1 Pictures will certainly generalize the heck outta this. Not looking foward to it as much as I was before certainly.

“A-1 Pictures will certainly generalize the heck outta this.”
Sounds like Sword Art Online.

Next time, try to blame the character designer (who isn’t always the studio’s in-house staff) for any trouble you have with an anime’s character designs, instead of blaming the studio as a whole.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 2:09 CDT
Next time, try to have some sort of idea of what you’re talking about before commenting.
A-1 Pictures shows consistent character design tropes across all their series.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 3:05 CDT
Do the designs in AnoHana, AnE, UtaPri, or most recently, Shinsekai Yori, look anything like those in SAO? I don’t think so. If they keep the same key staff (including the character designer) as the 1st season and only change the animation studio, then I don’t think there should be anything to worry about, regarding the character designs at least.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 3:09 CDT
All the series you mentioned are the ones where the character designer is 3rd party – or rare instances of originality. So yes, A-1 Pictures can be blamed for their character designs.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 5:29 CDT
That’s a biased opinion. You should blame the direction in A-1 Pictures, not the chara design…
Oct 7, 2012 @ 10:01 CDT
Yes, blaming someone for something that they did is definitely biased.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 0:31 CDT
First J.C Staff, now A-1…
Oct 8, 2012 @ 5:17 CDT
God, A-1 has trashed their own name to the point where its worse than j.c. Staff ……. WE HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM.
Oct 8, 2012 @ 9:47 CDT
We have a cereal problem.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 0:38 CDT
Oh no… one of my favourite anime will be made into a shit :(
Oct 7, 2012 @ 2:28 CDT
Oreimo… WHY MUST YOU BECOME TYPICAL
Oct 7, 2012 @ 3:54 CDT
It sells well.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 5:11 CDT
kinda expecting this though, they’re busy with haganai so its norm to sacrifice another… But I think aniplex is at fault here, owning A1. First the childhood stuff, now this, second season of some bishonen anime, the car anime, Magi, the horror anime, Fairy Tail, Space Bro, Some shonen movies and the next part of SAO… A1 sure is busy, I hope their quality doesn’t fall apart since they’re known for that
Oct 9, 2012 @ 23:49 CDT
believe me, it has already fallen apart
Oct 7, 2012 @ 5:49 CDT
God… NOOOOO! Why the hell A-1 pictures >.>
Oct 7, 2012 @ 6:51 CDT
AIC Build makes the second season of Haganai as of now.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 8:30 CDT
So its out April 2013 and A-1 is doing it. . . .
I’ll hold my “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” till I actually see something of it.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 8:45 CDT
Don’t. You might just die.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 9:12 CDT
Nothing better than starting the morning with disturbing news…
Why not switch to a better studio like P.A Works?
Oreimo is probably one of the most beloved anime series of recent times, and if something goes wrong …
Oct 7, 2012 @ 9:15 CDT
All shit hits the fan…as good as the production values were in the last season, there were enough issues there to effectively break its fanbase into certain factions. If A-1 screws this up…
Oct 7, 2012 @ 10:11 CDT
It was inevitable that something would go wrong.
Oct 7, 2012 @ 20:59 CDT
When i read the word A-1 my expectations dropped like 99.999 percent i cant even look at steak sauce without being appalled
Oct 7, 2012 @ 22:34 CDT
Scarred for life, can never use steak sauce again.
Oct 8, 2012 @ 16:44 CDT
All I know is that Kyosuke and Kirino better be blood siblings and do something erotic with each other or I’m gonna kick Tsukasa Fushimi’s ass for trolling me into watching another damn cliche romance.
Oct 8, 2012 @ 23:41 CDT
Is A-1 Pictures really that bad? I’ve got SOA backlogged but I loved Working!! which was also by them.
Oct 9, 2012 @ 0:34 CDT
They also made shows like Anohana, which was also very amazing.
Oct 9, 2012 @ 13:20 CDT
A-1 Pictures is somewhere between JC Staff and Production IG.
Oct 9, 2012 @ 13:50 CDT
Mostly strikes, but every once in a while there is a home run.
Oct 9, 2012 @ 13:52 CDT
And the occasional foul.
Jan 14, 2013 @ 1:35 CDT
What exactly’s wrong with A-1 Pictures? I was just wondering! =P
Jan 14, 2013 @ 6:24 CDT
What’s Wrong? They’ve made SAO, they’ve ruined magi with horrible animation and a rushed storyline, they’ve created posterior centric Vivid Red, they’ve spawned the bright as the sun, generic Harem OreShura, also they’ve made a crappy mecha series called Gyrozetter. All of this in just a year.
That’s what’s wrong, last good thing they’ve made was Idolm@ster, and they haven’t even made the effort to do anything better, rather, they realize how good Idolm@s was and continue to recycle their character designs obviously, most apparent in SAO, Vivid Red and Magi.
