“Madoka Magica” Sadists Can Cry Too

Oct 3, 2012 @ 23:04 CDT

Onto the second to last Madoka Magica movie marketing image, it features the flavorful blue mahou shoujo, sadistic Sayaka, as she sheds some tears amidst her transgression into insanity – a moe depression.

The wide-face action going on here is quite extensive. The outline composing Sayaka’s head is ginormous – which isn’t to say the aesthetics aren’t up to par, they’re merely noteworthy in their unorthodox nature. All the while, those tears are trickling down hard – and the various gradients of blue are shimmering as they gradually move amongst darkness and light, a stunning usage of hue. Now if only this wasn’t merely a frame from the televised series resurrected and reused.
