Light novel volume three of Kantoku illustrated “Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko” apparently goes full loli – featuring a selection of cover artwork between toddlers, or middle schoolers, both of whom are bathing.
Depending on one’s place of purchase for this upcoming volume, they may receive a book clad with one artwork or the other – yet there’s certainly satisfaction to ensue either way. Besides the more blatant facets of the above image, such as that the two are washing themselves, wet, and absent of clothing, the heroine’s hair appears slightly shorter – however more intriguingly, and relevant, is that she’s wearing an expression on her visage besides her inescapable indifference.
Those familiar with the tale of this series should know that before a certain point, her emotions weren’t solidified on the outside – yet to see such first-hand is quite striking indeed.
Shifting over to the slightly elder variant of nekogirl below, similarly to the above, she resembles her modern self to an extent that such consistency in appearance over the years seems quite adorable. Incidentally, it also seems that this rendition of the series’ heroine, a point on the timeline possibly from her middle school years, looks particularly delightful despite the blank expression. Perhaps it’s the shorter hair, or slimmer frame, yet this looks to be one of the most favorable artworks of nekogirl ever released.
With an animation soon to arrive, it’d be quite a treat if it also contained a rewind to younger times – yet as the third light novel isn’t even out yet, that’s unfortunately wishing for too much. Assuming the anime on level with the light novel however, it should be rewarding enough as is.
