Little Busters! has received a second PV, as if not satisfied with the self-induced embarrassment this anime series has brought upon itself, it once again attempts to show itself off publicly – a commendable effort at least.
Up until approximately the first 10 seconds of the clip below, one will be showered with a flashing variety of scenes, of which most seem to be of the already established “awful” quality – yet there’s also a few split seconds of more promising moments, albeit “promising” being in comparison to the lowly bits, which doesn’t say much. The overall display appears less than average – yet within these mere 10 seconds, a light of hope for an average anime series did see the opportunity to kindle.
Unfortunately however, the intercession of the jagged MS Paint reminiscent running scene shatters everything – it’s plain incomprehensible, no matter how much contemplation one may pour into reasoning, the purpose why this single scene is slapped throughout every video preview of this series.
Whilst not many, Little Busters! definitely has more captivating exhibits to show – its repertoire of video promos do indeed contain perhaps a second here and there which manage to entice in one way or another, yet for some reason, we receive this run cycle instead, which of course isn’t a favorable sign of expectation at all.
If anything, this recurring usage of a lacking scene tells us that this series will be repetitive – and the remainder of the PV, which one may notice is predominantly material from all the previously released CMs and PVs, only works to affirm the worst. Furthermore, this PV shows the different characters enjoying their lives to a slow motion effect, intended to cover up the frigid animation – although rather than the desired outcome, it seems to have had an opposite result.
Ultimately, to refrain from being too harsh on the series, one can merely shake their head in sorrow.

That running sequence is indeed god-awful, but I think at least it won’t make it to anywhere in the anime other than the OP.
The characters’ designs are available on the official webpage too, if you’re interested, Seven.

I got enough of the character designs when they were being released in Dengeki – the plain key visuals looked far better minus the color.
Essentially, it looks almost as if the more JC Staff worked on it, the worse it got.

I’d just noticed, they actually misspelled Masato’s name as Makoto on the official character profile.

They probably have no quality control unit.

“Popcorn? Check.”
“Reclining chair? Check.”
*hears trains approaching*
*sits down*
“Excellent…Time to watch the show…”

Sadism.

It’s more of a masocism if he wants to watch the show

I argued with you on nthe last PV that this had a lot of negativity going on and so on. But I can’t help but agree with you on this one. It looked awful and I wanna cry. Kengo’s attack there was…ugh…*cries*.

There’s good animation, there’s bad animation, and then there’s Guilty Crown – but I’d call this “bad animation”.

*bangs head repeatedly in wall beside me, gets a concussion* OH, now it looks good! *faints on the ground*
Sep 28, 2012 @ 15:01 CDT
It’s not worth the effort to make it look good.

OMG…
Riki looks like such a shitty character now, thanks JC.Staff… but even Kyosuke… horrible… this can’t be even compared to the VN, they should call it Little Busters! – Parody Edition…
Some scenes in this shitty trailer looks like they were animated in 1980, though a trailer probably has the better scenes… I can’t imagine how an overall episode will look, and I don’t want to either.

They should call it “Ritto Basutas!”.

the backgrounds reminded me of 80s cartoons. I wonder what people who are going to buy this on BluRay are thinking. Probably something like ‘Yay, now we can watch grainy backgrounds and minimal shading in 1080p’

Why did they ruin the superb guitar tone in this version ?
The original had an amazing sound, unlike something close to a Line-In recording with an immature amount of gain and with a far too thin opening riff.
Shame on whoever made the decision.

You seem overly concerned about the animation quality. There’s much more to a good anime than the animation, you know.

You seem underly concerned with the fact that an animation is predominately based around animation – crazy as that may sound.
If you just want a good story, go read a book.
In animation, a good story becomes “good” by how well it is presented with something called “animation”.
