Whilst the phrase “another A-1 Pictures production” has become something to cringe over, “Operation Vivid Red” is unfortunately just that – and some new character artwork has come alongside a sampling of voices.
Found on the official site, the voice samples can be taken whatever direction one may wish – there’s nothing much to praise or complain over, rather, the characters sound sterotypical to their design for the most part.
That said, focusing on the aspect of appearance, the character in question being flaunted here is the brunette bishoujo of the crew. Refreshing indeed is the fact that she’s clearly not merely an A-1 Pictures special of the day, visibly being more than a slosh of idols and waitresses – although it’s as if A-1 Pictures has narrowly avoided a collison at the intersection, only to foolishly plow into the vehicle in front of them.
She may not be a collective of the spare physical details A-1 Pictures had lying around, as is the case with some certain other characters of their creation – yet she does however look no more than merely a character which a more magnificent series would label “Bishoujo A” in the credits.
Her personality is also more than likely to be an affair understood at face value. As result of her dark-haired “cool beauty” bishoujo status, she’s sure to be the most experienced of the group – confident, and perhaps even a “mentor” of sorts to the loli leading character. If the series feels it wants to be of the brooding sort, despite the cute characters and unfitting atmosphere, it may even go so far as to take the heavily abused route of making her history catastrophic in some way or another.
If feeling ambitious, this bishoujo may possibly even prove to be invincible thanks to her affiliation with the protagonist forces – serving as one of those characters who arrive when the situation is at the lowest point, synonymous with feces, and subsequently proceed to smoothly secure a main character victory.
A single issue with that however is that seeing as the promotional items up till now haven’t been very eye-widening, save for that nudity illustration or the bikini artwork, it’d not be a drastic thought to think the series may already be at its worst upon its beginning.
On a positive side, assuming all goes wrong, at least the raw basics of breasts and pantsu can always be provisioned.

well, this is looking to be a series that is to be vividly ignored…
on a side note, 5th paragraph, there’s a typo in the word making, it is currently spelled “maki9ng”

Vividly ignored unless they take advantage of that vivid nudity – it’ll probably be vivid on the popularity charts, albeit lacking in terms of actual quality. Also, thanks for mentioning the issue.

“Vividly ignored unless they take advantage of that vivid nudity – it’ll probably be vivid on the popularity charts, albeit lacking in terms of actual quality”

Hiroyuki Yoshino is the screenwriter for the series, so…yeah I wouldn’t expect something mindblowing or even vividly good.

Hey, at least we can lok forward to someone defending a bad series with irrational things like repeating “THEYRE GETTING MARRIED”

I’m vividly looking forward to this already since the first day, yet I can’t expect it to be a terribad series despite having a Strike Witches director and Guilty Crown’s writer.

Vividly going to cringe just a bit. SW repeats in a different form.
