First seen at Comiket 82, shops are now stocking Kantoku’s latest doujinshi – a book stemming from his “Afterschool of the 5th Year” series, with a title best referenced merely as “Check mate” for simplicity.
Over the course of mankind, there has arrived many works of literature recognized as revolutionary – marking a true uprising in an ideal, capability, creation, or similar. These tomes go down in history as legendary – with every civilized individual ceasing activity to pay their respects, and institutions and individuals alike centering their philosophies around them as a foundation for their studies or lifestyle.
And such is the case here, Kantoku’s “Check mate” is the equivalent of the aforementioned – albeit in the field of moe. The story isn’t anything rupturing of the Earth’s core, it’s a a lighthearted and enjoyable slice of life – however, the true pleasure to be derived from this book is aesthetically, among other ways best not mentioned.
It’s a short volume, only a flimsy stack of pages, yet each page arrives in full color – and this is quite a satiating treat when presented with Kantoku’s cute females atop. Kantoku, in the case of this book at least, put quite some strong, truly impacting, yet very subtly portrayed emphasis on several delectable key points. To name a few, one more prominent aspect would be the lower bodies of each girl, with specific accents on the rear and thighs.
Kantoku truly brings out the sweet nature of the female body without explicitly shoving anything in the onlooker’s face, as is most often seen with other artists less capable – and one will also notice how it’s different portions of the physique, such as all throughout the leg, which serve to entice, not merely any defined point. This is not necessarily to say the leg as a whole is a delicious sight, it certainly is in the case of Kantoku’s works – yet more than that, it’s as if the leg consists of a multitude of epitomes, there is no area lacking.
Following that would come flat chest spotlight, then adorable visages – and lastly, Kantoku seems to have also taking a liking to the idea of having his attractive second dimensional females frequently prance around with lengthy objects in their mouths, instigating all manner of perverse wonderment.
With such perfection of craft, Kantoku is practically the Aristotle of the new age.
