An elemental workshop.

A PV has come for conventional shoujo series, Tonari no Kaibutsu, and whilst it doesn’t appear particularly original as of yet, one must admit the animation is rather slick – quite well-done in more ways than one.

When it comes to character design, the visuals are not ideal – although as mentioned when the key visuals were first released, there remains much to praise about them. In either case however, now this first preview clip has arrived, and the characters aside, the animation is streamlined in a manner quite impressive. The PV below plays through a series of different seemingly random scenarios – and the movements and motions are incredibly smooth to the point one can’t even help but notice them. In particular, the video’s beginning few seconds are truly spectacular.

Not only that, one can see that the series is taking advantage of the sacred power of “creativity” – with a finer example, whether one is fond of it or not, or thinks it silly, is that starry speckles seem to materialize and splash around whenever two physical objects strike. As result of this exquisite detail, among others, personality pours forward – and one is truly encompassed in an atmosphere exclusive to the series.

From the looks of it, the more individualistic aspects definitely overflow atop the lesser and excessively overdone.

Contrary to initial concerns, this may actually prove quite an excellent series when it premieres at the end of the month, September 29th, if this PV is any valid indication of expectation.

The animation is quite impressive especially the fight scenes. Might end up be a conventional yet playful romantic comedy that will be released next month.

Hey, Haru, you had your cold supper last night. I can tell from the stink. Stay away. Your breath smells like the john. I can hardly breathe.

I’m actually kinda looking forward to this show. I’ve read a bit of a manga and it looks like it offers some fresh perspective on the “different worlds” romance. Plus the female lead is voiced by the dynamic Tomato-chan, and I’d listen to her Japanese all day long…
