Several key visual sketches now stir of SHAFT’s latest upcoming work, “Sasami-San@Ganbaranai” – each being unprecedented as one would expect, with personality truly pouring forward magnificently.
As one will certainly notice with relative ease, each character visage is truly exquisite in how each seems to have an aura of individuality emanating forward. One of the main purposes served by line is to communicate to the onlooker – and in the case of aesthetics, it does so through variables in appearance.
This set of facial sketches don’t all feature the same kind of line – and even when speaking of the same character, the line shuffles around in qualities in certain areas. First notice how amongst the characters, the line utilized to compose them is quite diverse – best noticed in the hair, the line may be long and more lavishing for one, or curvy and more complex for another. Notice how a specific character, the bishoujo at the very bottom, has wavy hair, representative of a more free attitude – meanwhile, the female in the middle has hair still and straight in terms of line.
Now further, see how the line found in other facets of each character, aside from the hair, actually work in conjunction with the hair to develop an appearance and style – the bishoujo in the top left for instance has shoulders slender and inclined, with sizable and fully visible rounded eyes, exhibiting a more rounded persona.
With there being so much to derive from the characters based on their appearance alone as the character design is so excellent – the complete experience this anime will provide is sure to be something most marvelous.
