With a PV now available for the upcoming Minami-ke OVA, an affair to match the awaiting fourth season in traits and quality, it appears one can rest easy as the original essence of the series has been reanimated.
Resurrected from a pit of no hope, Minami-ke seems as if it is again destined to become the top comedy slice of life – and that’s as everything which made the first season so superb is apparently coming back to life.
Watching the video above, all the beloved characters return with their original appearances – although with some notable refinements in the artistry to meet, or actually rather, exceed modern day standards, particularly given that the standards today are quite shallow.
Now whilst the characters are back with the look they had when we came to originally admire them, still note that there seems to be some differences – mainly, in that everyone looks every slightly more mature. Story-wise, the series has progressed through time after all – thus, it’s a given, and something simply worth keeping in mind.
Also, do recognize that Kana and Chiaki’s friends seem all as cute as ever – minus the trap character who is simply still as creepily fond of crossdressing as he’s always been. Indeed, the memorable antics of the series are all still colorful as ever – and it’s specifically quite exciting knowing that they will be ongoing once more, now with added gag material, essentially meaning that the best has yet to come.
Studio “feel” is certainly gaining some well-deserved recognition with their continued work on the revival of Minami-ke – and assuming the animation actually proves as impressive as this PV, the result would be revolutionary indeed.

Humor in most anime series today is generic or attempts to get its kicks through excessive extravagance, like Binbougami ga!
When I remember a joke from first season of a three season show from years ago – I think it’s a pretty amazing show.

Hopefully the animation will be as good as the first season and not being flooded with QUALITY like the last two seasons, and I wish these two won’t be made if it’s for the poor animation made by Asread.
