Amusing indeed is the 59th key visual of the K-Project – an illustration placing its center focus upon street cleaning robots, a crew of mechanical janitors who seem rather expressive and enthusiastic in what they do.
This is a frame direct from the latest preview clip – these machines apparently pick up stray litter, do something to it with their cold lifeless hands, and then toss it into their portable recycling bin which they tug along conveniently. It’s not a process too flashy or fantastic – nor does the aspect of robots keeping the streets clean seem to be anything spectacular or out of the norm in the world of the K-Project.
In other words, the main point of this artwork is likely nothing more than to show what sort of technological advancement exists within the K-Project – as well as to what extent such is integrated within modern life.
That being the case, aside from these robots, one will also recall some intriguing sights in the form of touchscreen holographic monitors and whatnot. The K-Project does indeed seem to have a rather developed setting when it comes to data and bytes – now the remaining point of curiosity is how this will be relevant to the main story, as surely, they would not emphasize it so heavily otherwise.
And indeed, like with any subject of this series, this is merely another item of mystery to ponder over.

In the year 3000… In the year 3000…
Humans will throw their garbage onto the streets knowing that robots will clean it up after them.
Shortly thereafter, robots will be cleaning humans up off the streets.

Humanity has declined to a state where instead of recycling ourselves, we program robots to do that instead. Good job humans.
Aug 22, 2012 @ 14:10 CDT
You make it sound like humans recycled to begin with.

It’s the origination of the “In the year 3000…” joke – a recurring skit on a certain TV series in America.

My immediate first thought when I saw the picture was – giant candle robots!
Then I read the article and understood. Now I want them in my school :)
