An elemental workshop.

In case one still wasn’t sure of Code:Breaker’s conventionality, a pair of two more PVs have come to solidify it – one specifically promoting a musical theme of the series, the other being a general generic overview.

Within the first of the two clips below, the video offers the usual hilariously overdone trope of having the heroine be an ultra superlative female – who in the eyes of her classmates and everyone else, is a flawless angelic entity who sparkles above them all. And further, the promotional short even goes the extent of showing off how she’s apparently invincible when it comes to martial arts.

After establishing her as a perfect girl – then the video exhibits how the single disruption in her life proves to be when the stereotypical shounen protagonist, who she saw playing with convenient supernatural powers the other day, joins her class. And with that, the two become close through circumstances which essentially fulfill a prophecy of generic shounen series – shoving these two of male and female lead into one another’s life as if all the planets aligned and they were brought together by the very order of the world.

As for the second video, the series seems distasteful enough minus the emphasized music – and now adding the remedial shounen soundtrack only more so makes this animation one which doesn’t appeal beyond the audience who fidget in excitement over eleventh hour superpowers.

A local resident once summed up the expectations:

Uh, I’d like an order of Brooding Anti-hero with an extra helping of angst, some 11th hour superpowers and cold order of vengeance please.

And unless such fits one’s taste, then this series isn’t even worth so much as recognition of existence.

Could the show ends up being worse than Guilty Crown is a mystery.

And I thought I liked the animation pretty much because I find it impressive and not cheap like most harems’ animation did. However, I didn’t like the opening theme much cause it wasn’t something I expected (and I preferred it to be more than catchy).

If they follow the manga, it won’t have such horrendous writing, but it will appeal only to a specific audience. I dropped the manga, but it wasn’t truly bad. The anime might be worth a try if you enjoy shounen.

I like the song, is pretty cool and it reminds me of L’Arc En Ciel.
The protagonist looks similar to Aomine from Kuroko no Basket, and the previews look pretty cool making me really want to watch this show next season, not like i wasn’t planing on watching it but now I’m more interested in it.

The thing I like about Code:Breaker is despite how generic it looks, and lesser in some ways, it still looks interesting.
