An elemental workshop.

Haganai’s upcoming second season has received a PV showing off the slice of life harem action to anticipate – albeit with some definite differences in comparison to the first run, particularly in terms of appearance.

Watching the video, it’s immediately noticeable that the characters have changed in their looks, and to multiple degrees at that – their choice of fashion has altered slightly, the artwork has also become more refined, and there’s some other general revisions when it comes to the artistic technique employed throughout the presentation of the animation, although it’s all very minor in spite of being rather prevalent. Essentially, the art has been brought up a notch overall – fitting for a loved series entering its second coming.

Now as one will also see, the series looks classier than before in its delivery of character targeted gags and similar – Yozora ridicules the meat factory, all the while, do take note of the faces, both familiar and otherwise, trotting around beyond the window. It seems more elaborately schemed – versus the sporadic mess of nonsense the first season would output instead.

Although the video still has more to show, the PV shifts into scenes offering a hint of nopan, amongst some more ridiculous comedic incidents – looking much more reminiscent to the first season with that, yet there remains a distinctive barrier between the two. This second season still feels to have a peculiar sense of eloquence to it, perhaps as result of the visuals, alongside the aspect of “growing up”, which makes it feel more tame in comparison to the first run.

Then again, this is all merely going based off the PV – and one will, of course, have to wait and see.

Premiering winter season, January 2013, this is one of the more shining jewels of series to await.

I am so happy, i have waited for season two for a long time.

I noticed the two newer characters in the background. Yozora looks good as always. I believe there’s going to be lots of Yozora development.

There is even Hina (student council president) appearing in the background of the window (and also Yusa Aoi and Kate). In the novel she first appeared at the end of volume 7. So this could mean that the whole season 2 might conclude the whole story as the light novel are supposed to end with the next volume where Kodaka will agree to marry Sena.

    • Seven says:

That’s assuming he agrees to marry her- predictable ending.

        Wow….that’s a major spoiler !!!

        • Seven says:

You’d see it coming anyways from certain scenes in season one.

Although as for whether or not he will actually marry Sena is uncertain at this point.

You can figure it out that he wants to marry her if you read the end of the latest vol. 8.

He just said that his sad life now comes to an end and a new story about love and joy is about to be launched. The first step is to give Sena a definite answer to her marriage proposal in a few days.

The reason why he loves her will be revealed in the next volume. Everything will be settled then I guess.

I realize that’s the implied route – although that doesn’t mean it will follow through, the possibilities remain vague.

The second season looks pretty damn gorgeous.

Hm. I read almost all of the novel, and I only recognise one of the characters that passed by the window. Fascinating.

That is disappointing. Kodaka x Sena or Yozora is boring, it must be loli nun, loli imouto, reverse trap or mecha perv end! If that “spoiler” is true I may not finish this.

Yozora dressing up as Sena, I want to see that and a roof filled with photos of Yozora!!!! I am looking forward to season 2. Can’t Wait!!!

  • I think one of the reason that Sena will marry Kodaka is because Yozora friendzones him.

    • Seven says:

Yozora likes him as more than a friend, she’s just too tsundere and afraid to say anything – in fact, it’s probably Kodaka that friendzones her.

You recall the last episode of first season after she told him the truth? He didn’t react very much.

      • Actually I really hope for Yozora to marry him. Because the memories they had is better than Sena x Kodaka. Sena met him just recently while Yozora already liked him since little. In the first season, when Sena did some flashback, it’s just too strange for me, because they’ve only met for a short time.

Well, unless Kodaka is yearning for wealth and oppai… lol

        • Seven says:

I agree with you – Yozora is most deserving how I see it, though it’s not like I can decide what he does unfortunately.

Is AIC Build the studio for the second season? It freaking looks like Xebec animated this! Plus they’re busy with Oreimo…

Was it just me or did I see that Sena had pictures of Yozora on her ceiling and was smelling a wig Yozora wore?
