An elemental workshop.

Making for the latest in ridiculous otaku auctions, a doujinshi sold alongside a dakimakura at Comiket 82 from a highly renowned artist in the world of eroge, “First Piece“, is now nearly hitting prices of $2000 USD.

“First Piece”, as he’s so-called, is quite recognized for his sexy bishoujo contributions to the ero-creations of “Whirlpool” – one of the leading names in ero-gaming. At Comiket 82 however, he was debuting with some simple original illustrations of his own – selling a rather slender tome paired with a dakimakura, for what was an overall modest offering. Although then again, this artist is skilled – and “simple illustrations” in his case means some heavily tantalizing 2-D girls, and in response, the otaku base has certainly reacted it seems.

An auction has just closed for the Comiket 82 product package at the price of 151,000 yen – a total of approximately $1915 USD. This certainly is not the first, nor will it be the last, extravagant purchase made by second dimensional lusting extremists – yet nonetheless, such definitely never ceases to be rather amusingly incredible to see.

Otaku are seemingly relentless as usual in their overdone purchasing sprees – and this is merely yet another instance of the excessively grandiose to which one must wonder how such creepy individuals can actually manage to afford.

At this rate, it indeed appears that the key to stimulating the economy is 2-D girls.
