Body swapping was hardly the start in Kokoro Connect, the future which awaits is notably dark – yet there’s simply not enough evidence to piece together anything, aside from seemingly, peace was yet to be found.
After all of what the characters have overcome, it seems they’re still not at ease – and in fact, how could they be? Even if attempting to deny or gloss it over, it’s clear that Inaban likes Taichi as far more than a friend – yet Taichi happens to have his romantic interests affixed on Iori of course, however, there’s also the blonde bishoujo who is not to be forgotten. And atop the troubles of love, it’s not as if personal problems have simply evaporated.
This episode will not necessarily “unveil” anything – rather, it will direct us, serving as an enigmatic presence in a shrouded cloak, walking us over to a path of many different escapes. The route to be taken from the conclusion of this episode is highly uncertain – however, one can at least recognize that opportunities of both bitter and sweet implications await upon route’s end.
Time has passed – the episode initiates to a mood of serenity, yet it’s not long till we’re made aware that such is simply a transient trait in Kokoro Connect. Taichi and Inaban sit alone within a room, discussing some general matters – although a typical conversation for these two turns into something rather unusually sudden. As Inaban makes mention of the heat, she freezes before then ero-provocatively undressing a bit and advancing towards Taichi in a suggestive manner.
These two are individuals who self-admittedly masturbate to one another, it’s no surprise that either would have such feelings for the other – however, it’s obvious that something is wrong with Inaban, particularly in that her actions seem robotic almost.
An explanation for this is not found before the blonde bishoujo, and relevant bishounen friend, arrive – and as response to the sight seen, the blonde bishoujo goes momentarily berserk as well. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with any single individual here – rather, all of them are afflicted by a mysterious ailment, a supernatural one. Our characters are taking impulsive action – although more will we learn of that soon.
With the situation becoming a mess, the day skips forward, the sun has set – peculiarities continue to ensue as we see Taichi hurriedly preparing to head out whilst in his pajamas. Given Inaban’s odd behavior earlier, topped with Taichi’s strange actions, one starts to wonder if the body swapping has actually yet to cease – and Inaban is operating according to some agenda of her own, however, it proves that only be that the latter is the case.
Yet again, that comes later – as for now, Taichi has a quick interaction over the phone with Iori. They both note how they’re feeling as if randomly finding themselves engaged in some activity – more specifically, both of them had the urge to be together. Now of course, they’re in love, although this is not typical romance – it’s as if they don’t even realize what they’re doing. Iori, for instance, seemed to have a delayed realization to the fact that she was on the phone with Taichi – she’s not acting consciously.
On another note, and one which is definitely worth pointing out despite it not being too explicitly a centerpiece of the episode, Iori and Taichi reconfirm their mutual love for one another. It seems this aspect of romance will be a matter, of course, shaken – not simply in how Iori has her own personal woes, yet also in how there’s the triangle, or perhaps square, of love ongoing.
Finally, setting that aside, with the rise of a new school day, Heartseed interrupts a conversation of our characters to make clear the situation – they hear voices in their heads, and their deepest desires are seemingly now going to splurge forward against their will, that’s the latest game of the series it seems.
In response, Inaban does her usual deal of pushing it off with smiles and confidence – yet once she sets everyone on their way, she rolls up into her true form, a depressed state, totally buckling over in crushed sentiment as she’s holding so much on herself. One has to wonder if all which has transpired earlier was for naught if Inaban still cannot trust Taichi at the very least – if no one else. Although it’s not that Inaban is overlooking all which Taichi told her – rather, the situation has changed, and as for what those circumstances in question would be, it’s love.
Not only does Inaban admire Taichi as more than a friend, yet she likely views herself as the odd one out of the group – thereby placing herself in a sector of seclusion and loneliness as she views herself lonesomely.
It’s not merely her who is slumping into a steep depression either – one will see shortly afterward that Iori is as well, although note that with Iori, she says something awfully disconcerting, stating that she “won’t fail” next time. Of course, question arises as to what it was that she failed the first time around with – and not only this, yet how do the interests and concerns of the much lovable Kokoro Connect crew happen to conflict and collide with one another, as more than likely, they certainly do.
It’s sure that something spectacular, both for better and worse, will spur up sooner or later – yet as for now, we can merely wait in an eager rage as is the standard procedure following the conclusion of any episode of Kokoro Connect.

This group of friends has so much sadness, fear, and hate growing inside of them. I got slightly depressed by the end, since the overall mood was pretty negative. It was an excellent episode though, and I’m excited to see how this new “change” is going to work out for them.
P.S. I scrolled down hoping to see Yui covering up her forehead from the preview for the next episode. It was there!

KAWAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
I’m just going to copy and paste the rest of your comment because I agree with it all:

This episode was awesome :)
I was guessing it was something like their inhibitions being removed ( I figured similarly to being drunk) before the cause was revealed. Glad I was close to the mark :)
But yeah, didn’t expect there to be more than one factor (eg. body swapping) in the series. I wonder how they’re going to deal with this one…I like option 2 stated in the episode. Doing whatever you want would be fun, albeit problematic later on.
Who else felt sorry for Inaba? She’s so impressive, acting strong and solving issues, but being alone at the same time…
One of the drawbacks of being a group of five, I guess :(

I liked her since episode one.

Goodness, Inaba is becoming too sexy for this show. Pre-ordering this on Day 1 in the US whenever it comes out. If only more companies picked up LNs that have risen in popularity like SAO and the Monogatari series. :sigh:
