Hayate no Gotoku’s latest installment to soon arrive has received its first PV – and it looks as uninteresting as one would expect, doing nothing to engage fans of the original series, nor to secure a new audience.
Slightly past the title screen with terrible name, the video starts from the very beginning of the story – making solid the fact that this series is indiscriminate and separate from those prior, basically reinventing the wheel for no worthwhile purpose. And incidentally, from there, not a single element of significance is shown within the PV aside from some loli tsundere scenes which are merely relevant by result of her heroine status.
Assuming the PV is indeed a valid indication of expectation for the anime, then this series is seemingly a lot of nothing – this is by far the most lifeless preview clip in quite a while, and it’s not looking to be particularly promising on any front, from visuals to story, whatsoever.
Besides the attention hungry loli, everyone else in the PV looks as if suffering from depression – likely aware that they’re now starring in a horrible anime series, feeling devastated that they can do no more except await the airing, and painfully trudge through each episode till the finale.
The disappointment initiates in October – and it will certainly take a brave few to bother watching.

The manga is vastly superior to the anime due to Athena, and the third season’s story will simply end up as a disaster.

You basically summed up everything.

I don’t like the simple character design of the new season.

Compared to the first two seasons, the new one almost failed to make its designs faithful to the manga, yet I still like it due to color palette and shading, regardless of negative opinions. I don’t care about the “depressing” feelings over the new series, I’m just curious to see Athena animated.

As a reader of the manga and watcher of the anime, i personally think that the animation in the first season is superior to the rest. Dont know why they decided to change it, but im still looking forward to watching the 3rd season to find out what happens when athena is in the picture. And not to mention more hinagiku!

They should rename the series “Hinagiku!” and make it a slice of life about a pink haired highschool girl.

I find this depressing (well not really) on another level. Unless Hidan no Aria S2 becomes a concern, then this is the last gasp of the Queen of Tsundere in her Big Roles. Well, Louise or Shana OVAs; and please, JC, don’t just don’t go there. The last episodes of those two programmes were pretty much a shovel to the head for those franchises.
I would really like to see a great ToraDora Afterstory, cause…well, do I really have to explain.
As it is, Hayate was always hit or miss for me. I felt the first going was to long by half, and I haven’t invested in the second or the movie. Am I missing anything?

“Am I missing anything?”
No.

Aria, Taiga, Louise, Shana, and Nagi. The 5 tsundere wonders

If you enjoyed and liked season 1, season 2 and the movie might be right up to your alley, otherwise you wouldn’t enjoy it.
