A week has transpired since last Sunday, yet it seemingly took only a single anime announcement to turn a doujin artist with some occasional light novel work into a renowned name – with several series awaiting.
Seven Day Summary:
Upon the announcement of a long-anticipated “Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko” anime series, Kantoku has become quite an instant sensation – going from being an illustrator solely for a pair of light novels, Warawanai Neko and Polyphonica Aphonic Songbird, amongst his own doujin works, he’s now set to provide designs for an upcoming SHAFT production as well.
Aside from that aspect to look forward to, the remainder of the week is quite bleak in terms of promise coming forward, unless of course “vivid nudity” happens to be relevant to any – yet admittedly, there does remain a few items which have are indeed greatly of interest, such as the seeming resurrection of Initial D for this very fall season, or Silver Link’s latest work to soon arrive.
Those out of the way, all that remains is a lacking Little Busters! PV – followed by horrible Hayate no Gotoku artwork, and a chance of a second season of Kill Me Baby. At the very least however, they all have a better running start the ever-repetitive K-Project and its many identical key visuals.
And on a variety of miscellaneous notices, Amazon JP has announced the top 20 eroge – meanwhile, the latest coming eroge from “minori”, a name recognized in the industry, is looking not up to par with their usual quality. Nonetheless, one can take salvation in the Tokyo Hero Project.
Now in world affairs, NicoNico is utilizing Koichoco’s service character to provide pantsu to everyone, an “Assassin” has been spotted at the “White House”, and a new MasterCard is now trending. Best of all perhaps, Nisemonogatari is giving free imoutos with every Blu-ray.

RE: minori
Supipara looked nice, but it was an all-ages game and its sales were absolutely pathetic. In the eroge world it’s sex that sells, and minori all but declared bankruptcy after Supipara’s immense failure. It was only the first part of the series, but they’ve already cancelled it and will be continuing it in the form of a novel. This is the likely reason for the style of their new upcoming game.

“This is the likely reason for the style of their new upcoming game.”
So massive breasts are the future.
The good thing is they didn’t entirely abandon Supipara – although is it worth staying in business if all they’re going to make is generic busty bishoujos? Probably from a profit perspective assuming they’re making any – although it’s not benefiting the creative world any.

Yeah that’s a problem with the VN world, everyone wants to see sex. If you’re going to make an all-ages VN and expect it to sell, you’ll need some really damn good writing. Clannad comes to mind. It’s probably Key’s only non-h VN that did so well they didn’t create an H version after (Is Rewrite HF an H remake? I’m not sure). No, Tomoyo After does not count as an H version of Clannad.
Do you have an idea of what Supipara’s story was like? The description sounds like a generic slice of life with magic elements (see Dacapo). If that’s the case I’m not surprised it didn’t sell well despite having minori’s good art/production values. I highly doubt many otaku would be interested in playing a Dacapo like game without sex haha.
