Several new visuals, and subsequently, characters have been unveiled for one of the most promising series to soon debut, Magi – showing off a rather confident crew of stunningly designed possible antagonists.
Female physique is not even necessary for the character designs of this series to be immensely gorgeous – the level of intricacy is unprecedented, both in respect to the flashily accurate fashion which truly captures the Mediterranean vibe, as well as the assorted traits of each character. The former truly speaks for itself, yet as for the latter, notice for instance how the sheer strength of the violet-haired fellow seems to be emanating off the image – the expertise in shadow makes his muscles look quite formidable indeed.
It’s also worth noting how the visage is uniquely illustrated – the facial close-up of the violet-haired character allows one to see that his head isn’t the typical, and almost always seen, pointed shape like that which his friend below him has. The facial features in general are notably stretched horizontally, with the nose being quite defined vertically – all to impeccably meet the common and proper distinctions for people of the region.
On another note, the official site has unveiled a staff list, and the role of director is occupied by Koji Masunari – director of the original Read or Die, as well as the TV series, amongst several other works and involvement.
This series debuts in autumn, a season away by only several weeks – and it’s certainly going to be a grand one.
