Sword Art Online’s fifth episode can now be tasted in the form of pre-release imagery – the set being quite straightforward in what it shows this time around, and essentially being a mimicking of the PV.
As one can see, the situation is that the protagonist encounters the grouchy heroine – and it seems that nothing particularly positive occurs from there, only the conventional romance developments. They have their disagreements upon meeting – and despite the heroine saying X, Y, and Z, she ultimately merely subsides to his way it seems. And all the while, there’s apparently going to be some intercessions of the ethnic minority for comic relief.
This series may start feeling quite a bit more ridiculous in concept than it currently does within this episode as the emphasis on the main character pair could perhaps end up feeling plain silly – and forcefully pushed. Within the first two images below, there’s the sight of some typical muscular knight characters, and then the protagonist who we’ve seen is overpowered, yet the generic A-1 Pictures moe heroine stands in the center of the affair as well – at which point it seems difficult to take seriously.
And while the series has been enjoyable up till now for the most part, it’s also not helpful that the leading male looks like a character from Working!!.
At the very least, hopefully this does not become too heavily revolving a series around washed out romance.

Given that they’re supposed to look like their real bodies, aren’t the muscular knight guys in the background more out of place than a wimpy looking middle schooler?
