Anticipated in advance for as long as can be remembered, “Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko” has finally been bestowed with an official announcement solidly confirming it to be receiving an upcoming anime series.
The combination of popularity, premise, and serialization label, made it seem inevitable that this series would become an animation at some point or another – and such was prophesied back within March during a release of a PV for the latest light novel volume. Indeed, loooking at the combined details, the arrival of an anime is something far too obvious and not shocking whatsoever – more interestingly however, this may be the first series based after Kantoku’s art.
Yet there’s a negative spin to worry over – the production studio has been revealed as “Frontier Works”, and they’re not necessarily famous for a flawless track record of heavy hitting series, if any at all.
Nonetheless, one can simply hope for the best with this transition to anime – the source material is strong in every sense, with the plot being fantastic to go alongside the similarly, and of course splendid, artwork of Kantoku, delivered in a combination one would usually call by the term “perfect”. Assuming such is animated appropriately, then indeed, this is likely to be one of the more renowned series of whatever year it ultimately debuts within.
As the year of 2012 hasn’t much left to it, one can more than likely expect this anime no earlier than the winter season – although a spring 2013 release is perhaps the most viable.

That girl looks like Ako from Kiss x Sis. The Pervert Prince and the Cat Who Won’t Smile might be a good ecchi. I hope that male protagonist won’t be useless and annoying.

Oh no. The male is what makes it so funny.

Till you get bored of him. Well that’s my opinion, so yours may be different.

If we’re going to get another “unique” plot which just hides it’s true form as a harem/romcom then MC better not wait until 3/4 of the story is done to eff Ako-clone.

“Unique” in this modern standard is like finding a glimmer of light in a dark and gristly cave.

Another standard LN adaptation. *sigh*

It’s illustrated by the master of such subject matter after all.
