It’s frequently seen with many a series, yet Sword Art Online hasn’t been exploiting its heroine for various marketing purposes like the majority, until now – the heroine falls a tier to be another expendable item.
“Asuna”, as she’s so-called, has now joined the ranks of fanfare service character as can be seen above – with pantsu in particular being her specialty since she seemingly hasn’t much of a chest to show off even if she makes any such futile effort. The usual underwear clad suggestive imagery is beginning to fill magazines – as are the bathing scenes and provocative extras which went previously withheld for no apparent reason.
Further, as one can see immediately below, she’s to arrive in the form of a tempting bed sheet at the few week away event of Comiket 82 – and on a side-note, it appears she’s to make this debut alongside her unspoken lover as well who is to also be available for the fujoshis, showing that Sword Art Online is eager to please every otaku.
And perhaps this may prove as another successful front to take advantage of character physique for profit, yet Sword Art Online is set to become a massively scaled mobile RPG game – which if proves anything like The iDOLM@STER’s venture into such, one aspect it could mean is a variety of promotional character card artwork released every while or so, something which would be quite favorable with certain female characters.
The formula isn’t very family friendly – yet it seems with pantsu comes prosperity.

Oh… my… GOD! It’s Kirito! I can have Kirito in my bed! That’s so freakin’ cute! >__< I hope he won't be too hard to get, but I'll get him either way. <33

I’m going to keep special note of this comment for the next edition of SundayStyle.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 10:59 CDT
You’re not using the word fujoshi correctly… there’s no boys love involved in that daki. Being a girl & an otaku doesn’t mean you’re a fujoshi.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 13:09 CDT
You’re not comprehending the context – I’m pretty sure most female otaku who would buy a dakimakura are similar to their male counterpart in that they’re hardcore otaku, in which case, they’re likely to be fujoshis.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 13:40 CDT
I cannot agree.. look up the definition for a fujoshi. If I want Kirito in my bed for myself that doesn’t mean I’m a fujoshi. I can like Kirito without wanting him to be in close contact with other mans. I guess if I buy 2 Kirito daki then I would be a fujoshi hahaha
Jul 27, 2012 @ 14:35 CDT
You don’t have to agree – I’m not arguing what the definition of “fujoshi” is, I used it in a context which you’re not grasping for one or another reason.
“I can like Kirito without wanting him to be in close contact with other mans.”
You sure can.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 14:56 CDT
The ‘context’ you’re talking about is just you assuming that every hardcore otaku girl is a fujoshi. You do not make any sense man…
Jul 27, 2012 @ 15:13 CDT
And it’s time for an English lesson…
Referring back to my first reply to your initial comment:
“You’re not comprehending the context – I’m pretty sure most female otaku who would buy a dakimakura are similar to their male counterpart in that they’re hardcore otaku, in which case, they’re likely to be fujoshis.”
See how the sentence says “I’m pretty sure”? That’s indicating there’s a presence, but not total dominance. If you don’t think a significant portion of female otaku are fujoshis, then that’s another topic in itself – and you’re not very well acquainted with the otaku lifestyle in that case.
Yet continuing along, note how the sentence says “most” after the “-” , which means over half, but not all, in reference to “female otaku”. And then take note of how the final segment of the sentence contains “they’re likely to be” – which means there’s a good chance and possibility. I don’t mention all of this within the article because I write my articles for a target audience with an apt literacy – meaning they don’t need every single detail broken down to them like kindergartners.
Since apparently none of this makes sense to you though, you probably want to wait until at least fifth grade when the word “context” is used in your weekly vocabulary.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 10:59 CDT
Kirito gets a dakimakura too?
Lol, they are trying to reach a bigger audience.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 13:12 CDT
This is innovation – reaching farther and wider.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 12:48 CDT
Ero-suggestive? After what I read on 4chan nothing impresses me more…
But leaving that aside, good to see that the series is popular.
I hope to continue being successful.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 13:11 CDT
I wonder what you read on 4chan, perhaps it had something to do with intercourse and Sword Art Offline.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 14:09 CDT
Three words: No loli pillow. One word: fail. Next word. Abject.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 14:44 CDT
It’s going to be a weak Comiket for Sword Art Online.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 14:10 CDT
[spoiler][spoiler]“Two year of semen made a glopping noise as it flowed endlessly into Asuna.[Spoiler][spoiler]
This scene is not going to the anime, it is impossible! If this happens, will surpass the scene of the toothbrush as the best erotic scene in 2012.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 14:14 CDT
Yeah, that’s what I thought it was – some people like to simply ignore that chapter, but it’s official.
Sword Art Online as a series has slumped. The anime can still succeed and be great on its own nonetheless.
Jul 27, 2012 @ 19:00 CDT
So the SOA manga turns hentai later on? :(
Here’s hoping the anime stays family-friendly…
Jul 27, 2012 @ 22:40 CDT
I have two CR accounts, one for me, and one for my kid. Since the Kid has taken to SAO, I have to agree with you.
It would be like, if iDOLM@STER went hentai. Part of me would dig it, but……the loss of something amazing to watch with my spawn would be lost…
Jul 28, 2012 @ 2:50 CDT
“my spawn”
First time I’ve ever heard of human kids referred to like that. I like it, makes me think of game monsters (which some can be occasionally!).
But yeah, I completely agree Skylion. I’d never want to expose my younger siblings to hentai or ecchi stuff until they’re old enough for it (Hentai being 17-18~, of course!) :)
Jul 28, 2012 @ 23:06 CDT
I’m not sure I want my spawn subjected to it once they hit the right age. As I cannot offer any other advice than, “You gotta scrub that out with mind bleach….hella lotta mind bleach….bleach……::drooooooollll::”
