An elemental workshop.

Madoka Magica’s upcoming film has received its first PV – a video electrifyingly highlighting many a moment of magical girl action, many of which are quite familiar for those already acquainted with the series.

Available on the official site, given that the first movie to arrive of three based around the arcane shoujo unit of Madoka Magica, this promotional clip contains little new content – yet nonetheless, it does at least look quite spectacular regardless, and in more ways than one. The visuals themselves are certainly stunning and lavishing – meanwhile, the action is definitely an adrenaline friendly element.

  • That scene above was forever etched in my memory. I was bored at episodes 1, 2, and 3. And then that happened at the end of the third episode. I was like, what the f just happened.

I wasn’t too caring of it – although that’s probably as many individuals already hyped up the series and the conditions that I watched it in were not favorable, so it lost a lot of potential impact for me.

This was the show that ended my Anime Sabbatical of 2008-2011. I had not so much as dipped my little toe into the water. In doing research on various subject, I came across the tv tropes page for the show. It was on episode five at the time. So I searched it out and started watching with no other information or hype at my disposal. It was my third experience with SHAFT (first being a few episodes of Pani Poni and a very limited, uninterested, look at Negima), but was the first time they blew me away.

And then I found myself here of all places….

Even if I had watched Madoka in favorable conditions, I already witnessed far more gruesome series prior, like Texhnolyze – Madoka’s main reason of becoming a hit is the combination of studio, original author, moe character designs, and subsequent mainstream popularity.

I watched it at the urgings of a cousin. Now one of the best series I’ve seen, alongside Clannad and Steins;Gate :)

            EDIT:
            changed spelling error
