Apparently, “Google” has reserved a table at Comiket 82, the latest upcoming round of the single greatest organized aggregation of otaku in the universe – a place usually filled with ero-games and little girls.
Of course, Comiket isn’t all lolis, the event packs an immense amount of creative content from a variety of individuals and groups – some of whom even manage to breakthrough and onward into mainstream fame, such as Type-Moon. Yet one has to be curious what “Google” is to be doing at Comiket – assuming this is the same as the multi-industry, advertisement powered, search engine colossal corporation. If it indeed is such, then it’s likely to turn out to be some sort of marketing effort on the otaku front.

Google: The doujinshi.
Google: The visual novel.
Imouto no Google.

The setting is Google+ Hangout – a guy is searching for imouto hentai on Google, and then his imouto sees him, and then they’re not searching Google any more.

Whatever Google will do, I’m sure they will receive a lot of critique.

Well it could be the April Fools joke that they pulled with the 8bit Dragon Quest map thing. I’m not exactly expecting anything amazing from them…but you never know :3

Except Comiket is held in August or December.

Realistically speaking… I have not the slightest freaking clue why they’d attend. Firstly, Google is pretty much the homepage of the Internet itself… are they looking for partners? trying to gain popularity? Producing a playtest model of Dragonquest for the NES? Selling stock? Selling waifus?
“Google” your waifu? Google “in” your waifu? Distributing surveys and statistics gathering information on searches within a local isolated range with top searched key tags in attempts to FIGHT PIRACY?… Protect all that is doujin and present themselves as a deity to stop early on piracy of released content?
Present a game, anime or some form of doujin project? Provide media coverage that will go on a featured section of Google Japan? Hoard Hatsune Miku with another new revolutionary song that will tell the World “We are Google, without us you are nothing!” but in an obscenely cute manner?
Knowing them… just statistics, plain old statistics (and to snag some doujins).

I got it. They’re looking for talented artists to do a Google mascot girl.
