A stack of pre-release imagery for Ika Musume’s upcoming OVA do well to clarify the situation seen in earlier preview material – it looks to be a standard day of silliness which in turn leads to RPG gaming nonsense.
While it initially didn’t make much sense as to why the OVA appeared to be some sort of Dragon Quest reminiscent RPG, this allotment of stills, which mixes reality amongst an imagined digital realm, makes apparent that the story is sure to be actually following a route quite familiar to the series. Most likely, Ika Musume will learn or hear about whatever variable of human life – and as a direct result, she ends up indulging in all sorts of fantasies till episode’s end.
And as one can see, those dreams will be of an RPG type – as the situation in reality escalates, likewise will her mind cause the fictitious gaming world to stray further into a variety of far-fetched ideals and over the top concepts.
With such considered, it’s doubtful to be an OVA particularly in favor of the general overall story of the series – however, it’ll certainly be an enjoyable escape from normality in a manner which fans of the series should appreciate. Not to mention, this OVA is an opportunity to see Eiko in an outfit favoring of the eyes.
The OVA will become available August 8th – a time which isn’t too far in the distance.
