Key visuals of upcoming shounen action series, “Code:Breaker“, unfortunately do nothing to make it look less generic than it appeared upon announcement – the series is looking bland to the point of disbelief.

It’s indeed nearly impressive how lacking the characters of this series are – each cast member resembles a typical shounen character archetype. Yet even worse is that one can amusingly notice how a few look as if intended to be scary antagonists, although they’re all children – such as the arrogant kid with his eyes closed. In general, the designs are awful and absent of any defining traits – with each character looking dressed like a mess.

In particular, the fellow in the fifth image below couldn’t look any more conventional than he already does – and it’s humorous that whomever was responsible for the artwork even went so far as to have the closed eyes look reminiscent to something of “Yu Yu Hakusho”, or even “Yu-Gi-Oh”.

The heroine who wears a yellow top and has hair of violet is astoundingly dull in appearance – with not much of a prevalent fashion sense. However, it actually looks that no one of this series is very concerned with their dress. In the fourth image, one can see a fellow clad in green – and his ensemble is totally irrelevant to his ridiculous visage. Not to mention, giving a character heterochromia doesn’t make them appear original or unique by default.

This isn’t even a sight worthy of disappointment – one best merely palm their face and move along.
