Production imagery of yet another perceived “major” A-1 Pictures production, “Operation Vivid Red“, provide a visual insight on the development of the heroine – as well as significant hints to the story and contents.
There’s actually not much of interest regarding the heroine as her overall final design isn’t too spectacular – though nonetheless, these graphics give an overview in which one can see how she was first sketched out to resemble a female, and then specifically shaped in a moe creature with traits and physique of a little girl, the favorite kind of girl for most self-respecting otaku.
And once the loli was made, within the second image below, one can see how that progressed with a series of subtle yet substantial visage alterations in order to make the most moe variant possible.
Continuing along, one can see the setting appears to be a place of industry – although lacking of life. Nonetheless, the technology appears beyond modern time despite the visible simplicity as one can see the heroine riding a hovering motorbike. This detail is unlikely to matter much, yet one can insinuate the time period isn’t too far in the future as there’s no sight of anything too ridiculously beyond our modern life.
As of yet, there’s nothing to make this series feel extraordinary or deserving of a feverish impatience – although it’s admittedly coming off as quite interesting. And as mentioned with Magi, A-1 Pictures has been on quite a high-roller streak – delivering one hotly anticipated title only to have another soon to arrive from their studio.

I’m getting a mild Tamayura vibe off this. Maybe with a hint of Denpa Onna? I mean, Puni Puni is what it is…
