Hyouka Height Comparison With Vocaloids

Jul 9, 2012 @ 18:41 CDT

A revised Hyouka height comparison chart is available featuring even more irrelevant characters than ever before – squaring them all up against one another in a fashion which simplifies the process of ridicule.

The listing in question:

One would have thought with such a sizable cast, the series would have gone somewhere – yet apparently, anything is possible, even the accomplishment of nothing.

This chart contains all the characters revealed early on, as well as some recent additions – and looking back, a question asked upon the first height comparison chart was how our protagonist, the ever-indifferent and sluggish Oreki, would come to interact with all of them. As it turns out, now halfway through the series, the answer is he doesn’t communicate with them much – if at all.

Kyoto Animation is glorifying worthless side-characters as if they were more important than they truly are – though that’s actually rather fitting seeing as how the story of Hyouka also seems to often highlight meaningless moments, such as those of moeblob.

While a lack of development is no laughing matter, this series is – and so moving along instead of pointing out already exhausted flaws, there’s yet another character to soon be added to the cast, pictured within the chart as the uncolored outline. Her role is uncertain – though seeing as how many of these individuals prove expendable, it’s not even worth attempting to figure her place in the series as she likely won’t last any more than an episode, and even then, it’s doubtful to be a position played of much prominence.

And thus, the lack of satisfaction following Hyouka continues.

  • At least Hyouka respects they minor characters.

Now I remembered Gantz. The story focused more on the protagonist leaving the other characters in level of extras. I hope this also does not happen in Hyouka and Sword Art online.

They should´ve had Oreki´s sister there too, except turned around, so we can´t see her face.
