Scarcely seen in this era, “Aru Zombie Shoujo no Sainan” is a survival horror comedy anime series – and its first PV manages to incite quite a bit of positive interest as it exhibits all manner of brutality and terror.
Most striking upon watching the preview clip, the music is an arrangement of electronica, quite unconventional for an anime series – yet all so fitting to the sight of growing intensity being shown within the PV. The visuals are grand in that they’re not styled too heavily in any given manner – a few characters appear more unique than others, although none look too vivacious or flashy, which is significant when taking in consideration the genre of this upcoming animation. And everyone always seems to have a thin layer of shadow atop them to reflect the dark setting.
Some sights of simple unrest are shown around the start of the video – although it quickly escalates into a truly grotesque display come the end. Before looking at gruesome decapitation however, several aspects are quite peculiar leading into the final seconds of the PV prior to the physical barbarity – the pink haired female is clearly quite odd. She’s dressed like a maid, and seen beheaded by the conclusion of the clip – though it’s likely only a trick. And there’s also a blonde to take notice of – her face is never shown, yet she’s seen running around frequently.
And lastly, the various weapons and their wielders are of course a massive point of curiosity – yet we’ll have to wait to find how that turns out. A presumption based on the method of camera exhibition would say the dark haired bishoujo with blade is a protagonist character – whilst the blonde and pink haired two are both antagonists.
Much like the PV, the actual series synopsis manages to intrigue as well:
A violent survival comedy. One day during the summer vacation, six undergraduate students accidentally wake up an Italian zombie girl named Jufrosine, who had been sleeping in the basement of the university building for one hundred years. The six deprive her of the “secret stone”, which is necessary to maintain the integrity of her body, and run away. In order to survive, Jufrosine begins to kill the students, but she encounters unexpected counterattacks from them.
Release date remains a mystery, though it’s certainly one which seems worth the ambiguous waiting.

A survival horror comedy….seems cool…and judging by the preview..might be great

There needs to be more legitimate mystery and horror series – the desire is great, but the availability is null.

Finally! An anime with my favorite genre!
I just hope that this and Btooom are good as Gantz.

I honestly did not like Gantz – there were some good aspects, but it felt so forcefully grotesque.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? was actually a great series – there’s a lot more to it than face value, and I cover this here:
