K-Project’s latest key visual of 93 more to come is another scene of setting – rather than a simple residence however, this artwork features an eerie prison, with some highly unusual lighting effects going on.
A prison isn’t too surprising a sight in the case of the K-Project as it does have some more “street thug” type characters who one wouldn’t be shocked to see sitting behind bars – and that’s relevant as this series seems to have a greater sense of reality than most anime series. In fact, a prison is a rarity when it comes to anime in general – and of course, is quite a sensitive area of discussion in general as its not necessarily anything which a common citizen would idle in thought over, or bother contemplating about, and with good reason.
In any case however, since we’re seeing a prison here, then surely it is relevant in some way – the generic yet ever-important question is “how so?”, although unfortunately, as of now there’s simply no way to know.
There’s several aspects worth mentioning in respect to this image – one in particular being that the pattern of vertical lines traveling down the wall is very unnerving. The place seems silent, still, and lifeless – yet the light shining from above is quite peculiar. A dark floor and a bright roof give off a sense of vast and open space – and not simply in reference to volume, yet in sentiment as well, it overall provides a feeling of assurance.
Yet why would a prison feel such a way? The mystery of [K] continues.

All the cast seems to have destructive powers, then, or is a special prison or the scene of an epic escape.

I was thinking perhaps this is a private prison belonging to some sort of organization.
