An elemental workshop.

Guilty Crown Lost X-mas, the promising visual novel variant of an utter garbage anime series, has now had its opening sequence revealed – a rather decent audio and video combination with a heavy sci-fi theme.

A few notable aspects regarding how the OP, available below, is superior to the pair of those seen in the anime, as well as some facets worth recognizing in general, first include how the tune heard at the start of the video already manages to set an atmosphere then and there. The contemporary and quick sounds make clear the element of action present in the game – and the heavily styled cityscape being panned across at a rapid rate defines the futuristic setting and its many relevant traits, like advanced technology.

All throughout the video, there’s many different patterns which are portrayed translucently atop the visuals, almost as if the video were a montage of some sort – and this effect aides in setting a kind of fast-moving complex environment.

The character introduction portion is highly abstract, not that anything different was expected – and following it, there’s a scene of action alongside several ultra-modern vehicles dashing through a distressed city. The sight of the vehicles speeding across the highway is particularly notable, the very highlight of the OP perhaps, as it shows a more organized and centrally driven objective being sought and executed – versus the sight of children running around and playing with robots seen in the dreadful anime.

With Nitroplus taking the lead for this upcoming visual novel, there is the possibility of greatness – however, as the name “Production IG” is still in the credits, or even worse, “Guilty Crown”, one should still be very wary of it. Not to mention, there shouldn’t be any surprised faces if this ends up failing horribly like its counterpart.

Do my ears deceive me or is that the singer of the Steins;Gate opening?

  • Its definitely the same singer all right..and well not expecting anything out of this..its Production IG anyway..

Nitroplus is making the game – they’ve made many spectacular visual novels like Steins;Gate, and the latest, Robotics;Notes. Although Production IG did come up with the original concept for Guilty Crown – so that is troubling.

Don’t forget Nitroplus’ other great games like Saya no Uta, Phantom of Inferno, and Demonbane.
