Robotics;Notes’ Mind-Numbing 2nd PV

Jun 23, 2012 @ 16:17 CDT

Robotics;Notes, the much awaited sci-fi visual novel to succeed Steins;Gate, has less than a week left till its June 28th launch – and another PV has been released, a long and thrilling four minutes of unconventionality.

This is one of the longest promotional clips to be shared for this upcoming visual novel thus far, and so close to the date of debut as well – it’s a video which starts off serene and gentle, with bright blue skies, lavishing green flora, and cute little jingling sounds even. The environment is highlighted as if it were some sort of paradise on Earth – beaches, plains, playgrounds, fields, and fitting of the sci-fi theme, a space center.

A while into that, then we hear voices of the characters in a busy mood – all the while, we’re given a few sights of the delectable heroine who is so admirably cute and determined. Skies go dark and rainy for a moment till shifting over into a scene of a mecha robot against brilliant blues of nature’s ceiling. The heroine senses potential to create – and she’s certainly not one to let possibilities go to waste.

After some more mecha spotlight, there’s a quick overview of each of the characters – accompanied by a short reel of their voice which plays over the delicate theme in the background. The full cast of Robotics;Notes looks to be incredibly vast, as well as diverse – individuals greatly ranging in age, appearance, and disposition, with curiosity quickly sprouting at the thought of what each member of the game will contribute to the plot, a rather generic, yet always present question with an effective preview.

One will also be treated to an assortment of sights which show how expansive the events and activities in Robotics;Notes will be – with everything from building robots, to matsuri outings. Yet after acquaintance is made with the evening schedule, then there’s a listing of many different conspiracy theorist hot topics – as well as some general mysteries and phenomena of the world, intended to open the mind to the thought of tragedy and the abnormal.

Come the end of the video, the mind will truly be in motion at the thought of what hidden world of mystic lies deep within Robotics;Notes – indeed, science has never been as fascinating as it is here.

    Wait, it isn’t? No :(

Robotics;Notes is a visual novel – and there is an anime coming soon.

The anime will most likely release in autumn – but it’s being made by a poor quality studio.

  • I enjoyed Chaos;Head & Stein;Gate as an anime, and so I plan to wait this one out too. But since it’s not White Fox doing it but Production IG, and based on Production IG’s recent works, I’m wondering whether it’ll be delivered as well as S;G. Because of these concerns I feel like getting the game and enjoying that instead, but I prefer animation video over visual novels when it comes to presentation so it’s a tough choice. I’ll have to wait for game reviews and hope the animation goes well.

So…get the game, and hope the anime turns out OK review-wise before watching?
I wonder if the game will have an english language option…or translation.
