An elemental workshop.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha has been confirmed for a new series suffixed “INNOCENT” in capital English letters – more cute magical girls is grand indeed, although Lyrical Nanoha in particular has much prestige.

There’s certainly much to be pleased with regarding this announcement – even with the absence of any details aside from the title and this single visual. On that note however, the image does have some more importance beyond simply providing the obligatory moe service – it seems that perhaps there’s a new illustrator working on the series, as the art does indeed look somewhat more pulsating with rounded moe energy.

Possibly a reboot or prequel, since the original is mad old by this point and the franchise has been revitalized by the remake movies.

To be honest, I never understood the big deal with this franchise. I only watched the first season and it was alright… I guess I need to be more of a lolicon to fully appreciate it.

The artstyle for this upcoming series looks much better (imo) though. Stemming away from the original visual novel-esque designs. All we can hope for at this point is that it’ll turn out to be a good moe mahou shoujo.

It’s a mahou shoujo anime which isn’t entirely generic – yet still holds true to the sheer basis of the “magical girl” genre and relevant themes.

That is true and all, but still. It’s clearly the loli power keeping this one afloat. Maybe I need to watch the the 2nd season which I heard was a massive improvement and I actually did like the 1st remake film.

I disagree – this series actually does much well, or at least respectably enough to stay solid all-around. It doesn’t depend solely on females like a few certain other series.

The Movies are not reboots . they are condensed versions of teh series filling in missing information but keeping to the target of teh series

in my opinion sakura kinomoto is a much better protaginast than nanoha why? because she goes through trail and error when it came to mastering her powers and she had doubts, fears, and insecurities about her position as the master of the clow cards also she actually behaves like a normal kid while being nice and helpful, she can still have a temper and get annoyed when provoked like with her brother, with kero, and with syaoran at the begining of the series. Nanoha just felt like a saint all the way through never doubting herself or getting discouraged or feeling helpless things that would of made her a much more rounded character instead of being overconfident
