Pre-release imagery is now available for Fate/Zero’s final episode – one image highlighting Saber as she stands witnessing the result of indescribable struggles, the other, Kiritsugu glaring at destruction as it unfolds.
With a fiery orange hue seemingly of a gold tone and origin surrounding Saber all over, she looks to simply be staring onward at something off-screen – whatever it is, one can insinuate from her facial expression her feelings toward it. There’s quite a lot of different sentiments floating in the air, encompassed within the comprehensive decimation – yet Saber looks to be perhaps feeling a slight pity atop of sadness.
Though whatever is formulating on the inside, it also looks that she’s accepting of it regardless – and this makes the situation seem inevitable. Additionally, the more apparent and instantly noticeable facets are also significant of course – noticing the blood streaming from her head, it’s clear there’s been much difficulty overcome to arrive at the current point in which she stands.
Take note of the white smoky wisp in the background as well – it’s blurred to imply motion at an accelerated rate, with the source of it most likely stemming from either a recently executed Noble Phantasm from Saber, or one which is in the works. As there’s already a river of flames engulfing her, then it may be more likely she’s in the process, or just finished, a Noble Phantasm.
Now as for Kiritsugu below, his state seems rather self-explanatory – he stands staring at the salvation which the grail would have given him, though it looks that even by adjusting his plan to have Saber target the grail instead, it didn’t stop the city from facing catastrophe either way. Nonetheless, at least there’s survivors.

Couldn’t have said better. I’m longing for a good conveying of those as well.
Even so… Yet again we only get 2 pre-release images. Well, whatever, it’s the last one anyway. (sadly :/ )

I just hope they show something which you can look back upon and think “wow, this was a good anime”.

Hum… At max this episode will solely confirm it. I love the novels, the adaptation has had its highs and lows but has been, overall, really good. The remaining material is just the right length to fit in one episode and probably the Blu-Rays will even offer fixes to some of my qualms with previous ones. I don’t even need this final episode to be able to look back and remember this as a great anime.
Anyway, this will surely be an episode full of irony and despair. Thankfully, it’ll end in a very peaceful way^^

Let’s just hope this the last episode of Fate / Zero will be 44 minutes, it starts with 44 minutes and ends with 44 minutes. And does anyone know if there’s going a be a huge fight in the last episode?
Jun 22, 2012 @ 16:08 CDT
Hopefully – Kirei is still alive, and Gilgamesh hasn’t done much yet, thus ideally, there will be some massive barrage.

Sorry, but while I was hoping for a 44 min finale, they made it rather clear with the considerably rushed episode last week that we ain’t gonna get that. There isn’t enoughleft for it… I guess. And you know, Fate/Zero can be great without big fights…

The story of a man who because of his ideals was driven to despair. That is Fate/Zero ^^

For Spoilers. Read the FSN eroge visual Novel :3 NSFW
It’s kinda sad because everyone who watched FSN/went through hours of dead ends on the visual novel knows whats going to happen already :(

I don’t know, since I’ve only went through the Fate route so far but… For instance, do you know exactly how Kariya dies and how it impacts Sakura psychologically? Apart from the very ending with Shirou being found and 5 years later thing (5 years before FSN), I believe events were merely vaguely stated and will be much thrilling to watch here. (Fate/Zero has one of the best epilogue’s I’ve read, IMO.)
Jun 23, 2012 @ 4:14 CDT
Well in that case you already know how it ends XD
I went through too many dead ends and gave up on trying to find one of Unlimited Blade works endings…and regarding Sakura…Nothing really happens, but Zoken is exactly the same as he is here. Which I liked, and anything else…probably not.
You’re right about that though, it is much better to watch instead of flashing lights :3

Kariya dies because berserker uses a lot of mana during his fight with saber which kariya is unable to provide…as for sakura…. well he dies at her feet…she is somewhat troubled by all this..i dont know…shes just a little girl…and the UBW and Heaven’s Feel routes are much better than the Fate Route
