“Tari Tari” Looks All Too Familiar

Jun 19, 2012 @ 9:42 CDT

PA Works’ most recent upcoming animation, Tari Tari, has been given a fresh TV commercial clip – a short promotional video showing a mixed sight of a universe far too familiar, alongside a story seemingly too subtle.

This is not necessarily a complaint, yet it should be noted – Tari Tari has visuals identical to that of another PA Works production, Hanasaku Iroha. This is somewhat troubling in that one would always, of course, want an animation to be unique – yet at least given that the scenery is of such a high quality, it’s a disappointment, although fairly acceptable. Another point of concern however is how similar in story will this series surrounding highschool females, which has visuals one and the same with Hanasaku Iroha, be to Hanasaku Iroha – a series of female highschoolers.

Everything exhibited is of an immense caliber, there’s no worry in that – yet it simply doesn’t seem to be the most original series to come from PA Works, though then again, “creativity” in general is quite an urban legend when it comes to modern Japanese animation, meaning this isn’t too deviant of the average.

No matter, Tari Tari appears serene to degree, atmospheric as well – yet similarly to Hanasaku Iroha, embedded with many elements of deeper emotion. Many scenes displayed throughout the video, available below, do show a variety of feelings being showcased – as well as quite a wide, albeit simple, assortment of activities.

Tari Tari debuts July 1st in all of its ordinary schoolgirl splendor.
