SundayStyle: “So It Was You!”

Jun 17, 2012 @ 5:04 CDT

Looking at the period of June 10th, to the 17th, this was ultimately a week most entertaining – tracers receiving their just punishment, a pack of horrible anime series, and marketing prevailing versus all else.

Seven Day Summary:

Unfortunately, the highlight of the week has to be the Muv-Luv tracing incidents which not only spurred at the start of this last seven day segment, yet then continued to arise in all sorts of controversial manners – even long after the artist in question had been fired from his position. Moving to another rising topic, the news is still garbage – a PV for a trash equivalent series has been released, as has a comparison which admits the already well-understood.

Another tragedy, Sankarea’s latest manga volume essentially confirms that the anime is a failure. As the manga continues to roar forward with plot, the anime is still dawdling on irrelevant subjects.

Moving along to more rewarding matters, merchandise has seemingly become versatile to meet many interests – a figure of The iDOLM@STER’s Miki certainly does well to exhibit this, as does a dakimakura of a loli in pantsu. In fact, merchandise has perhaps been the most well-received frontier for the week – particularly with items such as a twintailed loli dakimakura of Papakiki’s middle daughter, and Haganai oppai mousepads.

Even those not interested in spending money will still find salvation as many products now come sporting a variety of wonderful exterior illustrations – be it an oppai comparison chart, or simply some of the more conventionally themed works, like ones aimed to amuse, or even those designed to stimulate.

Lastly, turning towards a few upcoming items, Kokoro Connect has recently been offering much pre-release fanfare, all of which is welcomed – and all the while, PA Works has announced plans of making revelations at Dengeki’s 20th anniversary celebration, opening the potential for additional Angel Beats! projects to be announced. And finally, the realm of eroges is also expecting new releases in the form of generic imouto incest, as well as more Tony Taka crafts – both of which seem to fit the criteria for selling heavily by default.
