Receiving its third PV, the K-Project, [K], only appears even more unparalleled as this video highlights battles amongst the characters – disruption which does well to show who is in conflict, and how they go about it.

Mentionable subjects of the preview clip are quite infinite when speaking in regards to the speculative possibilities – thus sticking with what is actually seen, an item first and foremost deserving of notice is the visual delivery. This PV is composed near-exclusively of characters engaging in combat – and spectacularly, the series’ experimental style truly thrives under the occasion.

As characters send their weapons, abilities, and other modes of assault swinging forward, the camera twists, contorts, and warps to meet it – depending on what a character may do, that is how the camera will respond. A sense of dynamics which works as if the camera frame were physically part of the atmosphere in which the action is happening – however also significant, there’s the matter of the camera’s motion in space, and one should not forget the other visual aspects as well.

The camera moves differently depending on the scene – in a few, it remains affixed as the characters dance, in others, it swoops around them like capturing a ballet. Now as for what the camera shows, the scenes are executed with a fluidity – every minuscule facet accounted for. While a character speaks, one can see the vibration of their voice as it escapes their body – each major movement is met with an abundance of minor ones which ensue as a direct result of the initial.

Moving onto general respects, another striking feature is that colors have a consistent method of streaming from characters – very specific fiery waves follow around certain individuals. And on that note, a portion of the premise of this series looks to revolve around a war fought in city streets – urban outfitted characters who seem to have supernatural capabilities, based around fire, are being targeted by a crew in a blue who fight with blades. One will find it impossible to miss the clashing of burning colors with each close encounter.

Aside from the PV, a pair of new characters have been added to the roster – and with this series continually approaching, this has expectation, hype, and the whole circle of excitement surging. This series has shown a lot within its pre-release material – and it has essentially confirmed itself to be grand, there’s little chance of anything less than unprecedented at this point.

This has got to be a movie. It looks absolutely gorgeous, if K is a TV series then it set a whole new standard for TV animation. Can’t wait.

      It’s a TV series.

And indeed, it seems to be setting new standards already – the animation is quite a mix of experimental flavors, as are the character designs, and essentially everything else this series has to its ever-prestigious name.

From what I’ve seen, K is going to be a ‘clash between two sides’ with a tint of unreliable protagonist. Kinda like Blazblue and their Ragna versus everyone else if you ask me.

Swag didn’t put out a fight? At least he’s on a nice motorcycle.

Also, here’s what I can grab from the flashing texts on the beginning (use http://seventhstyle.com/2012/05/11/k-project-k-2nd-pv-sexier-character-profiles/ for reference.)

“Pride and Loyalty, Wish and Blade”, with the woman in blue text. She’s possibly the lawful-evil head, and that text is their creed.

“Firm dee(?) must be biue/blue(?) righteousness” with the blue head in blue text, interrupted by something I can’t read, with the red-haired guy text. Since there’s a LOT of clips about them fighting each other, this may hint to some sort of rivalry – probably the red-haired guy is a criminal the lawful-evil guys can’t stop.

“Seven Kings and Seven Destinies”, with the skater boy’s text. This probably is a hint to what the story provides us – some sort of layers, perhaps?

“This world is too small for us” , with the red-haired guy’s text. This probably is a hint to the surroundings they’re on, an utopia. And the chaotic-good guys are going to break the stale utopia.

“Sweet deadman and hollow living things” , with (apparently) Neko’s text. Hint that Neko is an outer being?

“Who is the man who accomplish order in the land”, with the black-hair-in-blue’s text, cut of by the border of the video itself. This, combined with the black-hair-in-blue’s ‘fuck this shit’ face, is a hint. A rebel implanted onto the lawful-evil guys? A former lawful-evil turned? We don’t know as of now.

“Tial(?) king flew away to the sky”, with the black-ponytail-with-sword’s text. Another hint to what the storyline gives, perhaps?

“What is not inbaded, thou are gold”, with either the gothic lolita or the smoking brown-hair’s text. I seriously can’t take anything from this.

“Low and Thros(?)”, with both the blue-head-in-blue and the red-haired guy’s text. Hint that they really despise each other?

Seriously, the red-haired guy’s text are barely readable.

“Seriously, the red-haired guy’s text are barely readable.”

It could be a sign that he’s illiterate.

      • lolshack says:

As irrelevant as that sounds like, it’s kind of true. Y’know, gangsters with their not-so-readable text.

        • Seven says:

Going back to the text list however, very interressant.

I’m sure there’s a purpose that each character has their own phrase and font combo.

It’s probably a “no one’s wrong” war where there’s multiple sides fighting in their own perception of justice. Meanwhile, there’s going to be neutral characters – and ones who stand at the center of it.

    Nice~

    Can’t wait for [K]

No way this thing is a Tv series with those visuals. Denno Coil, Xam’d lost memories, Seirei No Moribito, FLCL, Canaan, Kyoani stuff and Mushishi are as good as you could get for a tv show in Japan.
