Alongside its attractive front cover, speculative information released regarding Haganai’s upcoming eighth light novel volume, to become available June 25th, implies that the series may conclude with that book.
As have a few others, this volume features the science girl on the exterior. The rumored synopsis says the Neighbor’s Club gets through a disappointing culture festival, thereby returning to their usual daily lack of a routine afterward – where true to its own standard, the story gets deeper once the gags are set aside, and lastly, a turning point is had with each of the series’ female characters, where the series then subsequently achieves closure.
It’s worth noting however, that could simply be a spin on wording – the Neighbor’s Club is ecstatic enough to have quite a vast arsenal of misleading nonsense to its name. Secondly, this information isn’t beyond gossip, thus it could be incorrect – Haganai’s light novel is progressing smoothly, and while a sudden ending isn’t impossible, it would be just that. Abrupt. Yet then again however, the story does eventually have to reach the finale at some point – and the series has recently been approaching a mood reminiscent to those final episodes of the anime.
The plot is becoming more centralized, and the seriousness is amplified whenever it does show up – science girl has gotten quite a string of hits, and it might in fact be a plus to end the series before anything becomes too incomprehensible for its own good.
If only the Neighbor’s Club knew how many individuals eagerly await their every move – perhaps they’d then be more considerate, a harsh wait for the 25th it is indeed.

Are you sure this isn’t the LN cover?
Because if I’m not wrong that’s “MF Bunko J” in the lower right corner.

Yeah correct sorry – fixed and removed other comments since I don’t need several voicing the same issue.

No matter if it ends or not. I leave you with the words of two great writers.
“Look, I’m not happy about this either, but all good things must come to and end” Neil Gaiman, quoted in the last issue of Sandman.
“Death is necessary. It gives life meaning” Albert Camus.

While Haganai may be coming to a close, I’m very excited for “My youth romance comedy is wrong as expected.” – it’s not Haganai, it is however a separate take on a crew of loners coming together. And admittedly, I think I’m fond of its concept far more.
The protagonist is a cynic, with an attitude that makes him an instant badass in my book – and there’s a second male who considers himself the friend of the protagonist, yet the protagonist hates him.
Both of these fellows are pretty direct and don’t hold back their feelings – meanwhile, there’s a group of females who are all too interesting visually, personality-wise, and everything in between, involved with the male characters who aren’t as lonely as they think.
I’ve been keeping up with the light novels, and it’s all I couldn’t ask for. Thankfully, an anime is coming soon.
Now what would really be perfect is if someone would animate this:
